Loved what I was able to see!

By that, I mean that I was watching "behind" the live broadcast and was abruptly booted from being able to watch further when the live broadcast concluded. Now waiting for the replay to become available (which it says will be "soon").

Lesson learned, I guess. Despite an otherwise fine broadcast, I'm annoyed at Peacock and glad we don't have too many games there.

/end rant
not sure if already answered, but search for the remaining Peacock games and add them to "My Stuff" and you can watch on demand

He has to start by getting physically stronger and more physical during the games. He's going to be a liability on the defensive end to start the year, especially in the glass. I think that his offensive game is going to be on the perimeter. He's got a long way to go, but he's only a freshman.

Ohio State, no cupcake, maybe an asterisk next to them.
Right, here's an update with that OSU game shown as a win over a Top25 team and next to KP. Yeah, we look pretty good by these measures.

At what point in the game did this happen? I missed it and would like to see it.
As I write this, it is on the Home page, second down. I would post it here for you if I knew how to do that exactly.
It is pretty slick

Where is this 27 orb number coming from? According to sports reference SIUE had 14 orb on 52 missed shots. They were 14/19 33 trb. We were 13/30 43 trb. Not great but not terrible either.

I know its early but we have 3 players averaging 1.6 ppp. Crazy.

Again early, but KJ assist percentage is 50! Only 2 games but seriously. If memory serves Deron's was in the mid 20s. A big number over a much longer period but still.
Yeah, I don’t know where the 27 Off. Reb. number came from either but I checked the Fighting Illini website’s box score and it has numbers that are different from yours. Not criticizing you just reporting what’s on the Fighting Illini website. I guess it could be wrong, too. I don’t know.

In fact, now I am totally confused. It also says Illinois got 47 total rebounds. I thought I read posts here that Illinois was outrebounded. Color me confused, but then that is kind of my normal state.

Yeah, its strange narrative. Of the 50 rebounds that were available when SUIE shot the ball, SIUE got 19 or 38%. Of the 38 rebounds available when Illinois shot the ball, Illinois got 16 or 42%. There is room for improvement, sure, but...

No worries. Sports Reference isn't my site. lol. Weird . It seems every site has a different number. Just checking the Illini box score, SIUE missed 51 shots plus 9 FT for a total of 60 misses. But the box score has only 50 rebounds. Hmmm. idk.

Boxing out....
What I noticed too much was Illinois players running toward the basket instead of boxing their man out. A lot of SIUE offensive rebounds were on long rebounds that went over the heads of Illini players. Fortunately, that's a pretty easy thing to identify on film and fix in practice.

We gave SUIE too many second shot opportunities. That wasn’t just hyperbole from Brad. We often didn’t get a body on somebody down low. But, worse yet we had a lot to of guys watching and not really trying to release to the ball after the shot went up.

Surprisingly SUIE is fairly physical for a cupcake. They looked similar against Indiana. It’s just something we’re gonna have to continue to improve on for Bigten rockfights coming up.
(think: Michigan State)

But based on the huge strides we’ve made on D…it makes me think we’ll get that whipped into shape; in no time.

The offensive talent Underwood has assembled is crazy and is only going to get better as the season progresses - but I really appreciate the stepped up defensive intensity last night. Just need to squeeze some more of those loose balls. I know… that’s what she said.

After so many years of futility it’s really gratifying to root for teams that are fun to watch. I keep thinking of those Groce teams that stood around and fired up late shot clock threes and none of them could shoot. So many of us watched every one of those awful games. Great time to be an Illini fan.
Allow me to introduce you to the Washington Huskies, losers at Nevada 63-53 over the weekend. They have the $2 million dollar NIL man Great Osobor, and a new coach that’s made the NCAA with Montana State and Utah State for the past 3 years.

53 total points. Paying a guy $2 million. He had I think 3 of those points himself. 9 rebounds though. The expectation was they’d run high post offense through him, but without much help, Nevada just doubled him all night and closed down most entry pass sequences. The Huskies ended up not driving, not drawing many fouls, bricking many shots and being dull to watch doing it.

Very Groce like.

Illinois is visiting out here in Seattle on Jan 5 btw. Seats are easy to come by, Hec Ed Pavilion / Alaska Airlines Arena is rarely sold out. And I don’t think is going to break that trend just yet, unless out of town fans show up in numbers. It seats 10,000, kind of has a pre-rebuilt Welsh Ryan feel to it. Maybe just because of the purple.

Do you mean that it's not Jaksheohness or Humreekhouse? And what happened to all that gray? Love Bardo, but c'mon, how can you listen to your partner and the arena announcer correctly pronounce these names and continue to mispronounce them?
He just needs to give them all nicknames.
