Brad Underwood: Got exactly out of that what we wanted. In retrospect, very good defensively.
Underwood: Augustana thoroughly whipped us on the offensive glass. You can imagine what our halftime speech was. Leron Black getting shut out in first half won't do.
Underwood: Probably shows Kipper's importance to us that we didn't rebound well. Only five minutes in 1H
Underwood: Finke was aggressive. AJ was good again. He just does the simple things.
Underwood: Frazier had some moments throughout the game.
Underwood: Great to see Mark Alstork with 5 assists and get going and make shots.
Underwood: Frazier has the ability to take us to another level. With that has to come the mental approach. Defensively tonight, he was dialed in.
Underwood: About making the simple plays for Trent Frazier. I'm not going to be satisfied with Trent for a while because he has the ability to be a special-type player.
Underwood: I've not worried for one second about shooting threes. It was a matter of us shooting them in rhythm and shooting the ones we shoot in practice, in flow.
Underwood: By playing aggressive, our perimeter defense becomes our best post defense.
(THIS WILL BE A KEY ALL SEASON.)
Underwood: "If you guys have noticed, I've coached them pretty hard, even through the wins. I believe in that."
Underwood: Augustana never quit. They kept doing what they do. We still haven't done that yet.
Underwood: "Michael is a good player. He's a very capable player." He gets in trouble when he tries to do things he can't do, "Like when he dribble-drives it and tries to act like Curly Neal."
Underwood: Finke "is an elite shooter. He's one of the best shooters not just in the Big Ten but in the country."
Underwood on Te'Jon Lucas: "I still think he's finding his way in our system."
Underwood: We need to get better offensively so I can scheme when people throw things at us. Very vanilla again tonight.
