I’m guessing this was Brad at halftime

I’m guessing Unerwood says bad words sometimes.

- I firmly believe this Brad's best team. This team has another level, a playoff level, that the Ayo-Kofi-Trent teams didn't have.
-the major thing I worry about with this team, Brad has to tune this team up too much for a veteran group.
- TJ, enough said
-Luke Goode! His best stretch in a while. I'm harder on him here, but I do love him.
- I mean to have a 26 point swing in a half against a team of their quality is insane. We also haven't seen remotely anything close to what Marcus, Coleman, and Quincy can bring offensively.

Funny that people are thinking of Maravich, etc. Today’s performance reminded me of Mark Aguirre having his way and that if there’s no superman Larry Bird out there the Illini have a great chance to make a long run in the NCAA’s.

Saw him and I. Thomas play each other in a high school tournament game played at AH, that was really a battle.
Both became great college players

I think the 2021 team was definitely better. But at this point what matters is how good you are in late March/April and maybe this team ends up better in that stretch.

One more thing this game makes me feel better about is the depth of this team. And I don't mean "they go 10 deep every game" depth, I mean "There is always a 5 man lineup that this team can put out that is better than their opponent". Today it was Shannon, Domask, Goode, Rodgers and Guerrier. Yesterday, it was Shannon, Rodgers, Dainja, Hawkins and Goode (pick your 5th I guess, Goode was the best of the bunch). Typically, it's Shannon, Domask, Hawkins, and 2 others. But they've got 8 regular players they can mix and match until they find a set that works, with occasional boosts from DGL, Amani and Moretti (though I think Moretti has only really been a positive in one game, and is living off that for far too long at this point).

It's allowed the Illini to have a chance to win every game, and never really feel like they had no business being in a game (though the game at Purdue felt like it until the Hawkins-Guerrier-Domask-Harmon-Goode line up started torching them the last 10 minutes). Even with 4 games against top 2 seeds, they've been right in every game.

This team wins a best of seven 4-2 over that team. Too much to account for on this squad.
Ayo would struggle with the longer Shannon defending him, which would be the lynchpin of the 2024 gameplan.

But Kofi would get anything he wanted every time down the floor, and any time we got Trent switched onto the likes of Domask or Goode he would roast them like Christmas dinner.

2021 would make 2024 work for their points. It would not be vice versa.

But doesn't kofi go for 30 every game?
Beat me to it. But much like our matchups against PU right now, I think it would've come down to a couple of plays each game. Current roster would have matched up well in as many ways as not IMO.
X factor for me would be TF. If he was healthy, I think I give it to the old heads, because he was the dawg of dawgs.

Who accounts for Q or Ty? Goode is playing the perfect amount right now, which isn't alot and would be switches on to Trent much. This version of Coleman is a problem. Marcus probably can't booty ball against Monte, a wash. Oh yea, this team has Justin. Amani and Dain for some body against Kofi.

Believe me, I love that team. We have what we have because of that team. That team reminded me of the Rose led Bulls. Get a 1 or 2 seed, just didn't have that playoff level. This current team does.

We can win the national championship and I'll still disagree with you.

We just completely blew it. The tournament is cruel, there's no rationalizing it.

Anyone know where I can watch a replay? I forgot to record it and was away all day. Sounds like I missed a lot!
This one is the best replay. Full game with some Nebraska fans. You watch them turn from joy to agony
