Disclaimer: I'm a total recruiting newb. What goes on during a visit? Is it a beefed up campus tour with access to the athletic facilities? I would have guessed that you host them on a gameday so they can see/feel the atmosphere, but obviously they are out-of-season as well.

Then I suggest you join either Rivals or Scout to get into to it. I used to follow the loyalty insiders like a lost puppy dog waiting for their big leak. Then you realize they are just posting material they read from Doug or Brad at rivals.

I come still because Dan runs a great site and I am an optimist about the program. Even against all sanity, I am an optimist. But if you join, don't post material behind a paywall, that is rude.

Yes there are. One 4 star player in particular I have held out hope for since he visited while committed elsewhere in the Spring. I have a weird good feeling about him and it would be a big-time player and the best recruit at his position since the Zook years.

I hope we get a visit from Farrar. Kid comes from N TX powerhouse (southlake carroll)....same high school Chase Daniel and scott chandler are from. They run a spread....he's been in that type of offense for the last 6 years. Kid doesn't have blazing speed, but he just makes plays. Would love to start building a pipeline to N TX schools.

Also the same school as lil Jordan Humphries, a 4* ATH we've offered (but don't have a chance with).

bingo. Although I guess he might go to Indiana only now. He was supposed to be here on the 13th. We shall see now. Twitter is a swamp that I should pay less attention to

Dez has really good hands and ball skills. Isn't a burner but knows how to get open.

The connection there is Bellamy. I want to say he played with Dez's dad somewhere along the line.

Think the University needs to do a better job publicizing Cubit's permanency as HC. Then those recruits he had all lined up just waiting to hear the news will start to commit!

they literally did the opposite by going with a 2-year deal.

We will get some commits. Might not be anyone to interesting but they will come. They have to sell the university or playing time. Don't have much else going for us at the moment. Can you imagine being this staff and trying to recruit kids with this mess hanging over you? Yuck.

Most kids aren't as privy to the administrative shakeup as they would have been about coaching turnover.

Can you imagine being on this staff trying to recruit with a 2 year deal that your head coach formulated?

I guess our lists might've been a little too short as far as visitors go. From a Tupper article: "On Saturday, Illini head coach Bill Cubit was at the Illinios-Western Carolina basketball game entertaining a group of 12 recruits. He has more than 20 recruits coming to campus this weekend." I believe that is referring to this upcoming weekend with the 20, as the Western Carolina game was last Saturday, and the article written sometime after that.
