I'm a novice when it comes to football recruiting, but it seems as though TB/Golesch etc have a lot of positive vibes. This feels much more of a long term "program" build than Illinois has had, maybe, ever?

To be honest, 6 months ago I was hoping we would have a new football coach for 2015. Now, I think Beckman has shown steps to be in for the long haul, if the on-field results mirror the off-field results.

The names in the article, some of them, I didn't think we would ever stand a chance at even getting on campus. Im impressed by the talent coming in for a visit.

Gotta start somewhere. Getting them on campus is the first step.

I nice little thing I noticed...

Kentrail Moran, after this weekend, he will have visited us 3 times since August. Thats a good sign.

Moran was also just picked in the crystal ball to ILL on 247 today.

Would be nice to get a commit from him to be the D.Brown of this class to be our spokesperson and leader of the recruiting class.

Pretty sure he has been here 3 times since December. Thought someone said he came to a bowl practice, then he was here at Junior day a few weeks ago. now this weekend

There may be a legitimate chance we get Moran and Peters, maybe not necessarily this weekend, but relatively soon.

Odds of any commits???

Also KM was supposed to be in the bag for M now looking our way are we out recruiting them or is harbaugh giving him the brush off (kid looks like a great prospect)

Finally key needs this class?

I would imagine that UM would be looking at a lot higher ranked guys. Not that Kentrail is not highly ranked but UM has been known for its tradition of looking at getting kids who are high national profiles.

I hope UM lands a big instate RB or a very high national profile guy and we will gladly take Kentrail with open arms cause I do think this kid is a special talent.

First off first time I sign in weeks and I have to hop scotch back this thread ?
Stan I do not know what scout is rating Morgan because they took a simple effect format than upgraded it to where I don't bother with their ratings. Espn and 24/7 I have been a little busy for so based on Rivals he is rated as the #9 running back in the country. Just leaves a question in mind about better backs for Michigan.

Well I did not know he was ranked THAT high. Holy crap. I just thought he was ranked as a 4* well above average but didn't think that high.

He could very well get 5* recognition.

Well regardless I pray that he is ours and Mich has to settle for a lesser quality back like they had to do in 2015 class. While swinging for the fences with Weber and Harris both went elsewhere and had to snag Higdon from Iowa

But the thought of all our young OL core of DiLauro, Allegretti, Solomon, Martin, Meggs.

With the idea of Brown, Vaughn and Moren all highly touted 4* RBs. Its exciting

I actually never thought of this. This is absolutely a bright spot to look forward to!

Harbaugh always likes the RB's who run downhill between the tackles.
Hopefully, his loss will be our gain!

If we can get KM along with the CB Love, then we've really made an impact instate. Plus let's add Spears & the 3 from Phillips:thumb:

Good things happening.

Awesome to hear. If people want to call the basketball program a complete overhaul that's fine, but then you would have to call the football program the "Lazarus Project"

Beckman and Co. seem to be doing something right. If recruiting continues to strengthen I think I can live with them staying even without a bowl game next year.

O'Fallon RB Kentrail Moran, the No. 1 RB in the state, has committed to the #illini.
