No School survives off in state talent alone. Even Texas USC n the Florida schools have out of state talent. If Illinois locks down the borders and have the pick of the litter of Illinois talent they will be MUCH better off talent wise that what they currently are.

Don't get unduly excited about 24/7 crystal balls when I first started looking at their site several year ago. I got excited when I saw their predictions only to find it is no more than an educated guess. 24/7's batting average is not a lot higher then the highly interested fans. Lots of misses. Illinois has backed off on Skane's so not much reason presently to care . :huh:

Naquan Jones to Michigan State. Jeez, they are really tearing it up right now. If we have a new head coach anytime soon, I really hope we give Spack at Illinois State a look. Until we can successfully recruit Illinois we are not going to find success.

You are never going to lock down the entire state, too many good teams will come in and recruit. If we can keep doing what we did last recruiting season and build on that then we would be fine, but this mess of an offseason is going to make that tough.

quite impressive by MSU to lock up those 3 DL's over the last few days
that they decided to play together, but didn't even consider doing that here is so sad. That's how quickly these instate players could help turn the program around, especially all 3 playing on the DL

When the Narduzzi at Mich. St left for the head coaching position it felt like a one two punch under the belt along with the Michigan hire of Harbaugh. Pitt got to be a bigger thread and if possible so was Michigan and Mich. St lost nothing in my view then and it is proving true,.

I'm a little surprised at how well MSU is recruiting on the defensive side with Narduzzi gone, though.

Been reading the St. Louis Post and Mizzery has been getting some verbals the past few days also. Put them up to 9 for the year. Some of these schools have a crazy amount of verbals already.

Northwestern is pulling guys in left and right as well.

And once again, unbelievably we're getting very little interest from our DL targets. It's so hard to understand with our lack of underclassmen at those positions.
We may have to widen the search soon, possibly offers to McCabe from Palatine or Aguirre from Joliet if he qualifies:chief:

Pg in basketball, DL in football. Two positions of need, with probable immediate playing time available, and we are struggling to land targets. What gives. :confused::confused:
