Two good recruits. Good class so far. Let's keep it going!

I like coming here more than the basketball recruiting thread lately

6'5 and 310 seems huge for an incoming guy, even a lineman. Is he gonna be competing for a spot from day one or will be redshirt like most freshman who play football?

If he's switched to DL, he'll play (if not start). As an OL, things are fuzzier. Hope he's redshirted, but if he forces the issue...

With everyone gone after this year, I am not ruling out that he finds a spot on the starting OL in year 1. He's too big and talented, and in addition to a college s&c program, he'll have a legit shot. Just needs to lean out a tad. Dude is MEAN.

Do any other recruits have decision timelines? I think we said on here Carmoni Green was at the end of the month. Anyone else we know of?

Very few Freshman lineman play their first year. It's always ideal to have them get acclimated, get on the weight program, change nutrition and be ready to go by the 3rd year (redshirt Sophomore) Your best programs almost exclusively redshirt Freshman and play with 4th and 5th year guys.

This guy is an offensive lineman...and because of lack of depth, there will be some opportunities to earn playing time next year. Hopefully, by year 3 of Lovie's program...we can redshirt all our Freshman lineman on both sides of the ball.

Lowe and Boyd both in the 330 range. Already have Boyd as mid 4* Lowe high 3 star both could go up by end of senior season. Boyd a high 4* possible top 250, Lowe 4*. In Lowe case he just needs to be consistent and remain in prime football shape with diligent work ethic.

We are going to need more then just him at DE in this class. We are losing 3 seniors Smoot Phillips, President off this team for next year.

We need at least 3 DE ps in this class.

Oladipo and Carney would be a haul. Really starting to like the feeling of some legit recruiting momentum. Landing Oladipo, with the offers he has on the table, along with Adams and Boyd in such a short time span would be pretty legit. Starts to really allow the class to take shape. Seems as if maybe Lovie is starting to get the hang of this recruiting thing.

Definitely and we need guys who can contribute early.

Plenty of playing time to sell with a top notch coaching staff. I think we will end up with 2 or 3 studs

Landing O O would really start the ball rolling for the defense. All 3 of the guys really impressing me as difference maker so far on offense. O O would be the first on defense line with a handful more we are still in the game on another handful on the back 7.. There are also probably a hundred tapes I have not seen yet of uncommitted to go over as well. By the way I have not seen our in state linebackers Mondesir I believe is the name. He is the only commit I have not watched tape.

mondesir runs a 4.5 at lb rush de\lb he's got great speed but horrible tackling technique

The good news is it's much easier to teach tackling technique than it is to teach speed .

Lovie believes in getting raw talent and molding it . There is some truth to it. A guy with great tackling skills doesnt mean much if he can't catch up with the ball carrier .

he'll hafta reshape cubits recruiting class and make it work...a lot of these kids will be shapedninto actual players with purpose.....because before LOVIE n crew you didn't hear much about Chris James nor Darwin Kelly they are getting a lot of first team reps as well as shaping and bulking JU Jones and justice Williams into linebacker material

If he can run like that any chance he bulks up a bit to be the MLB? That type of speed in Lovie's system is want made Urlacher so special.

Would be nice..he's 6'2 210 now so who knows I see LOVIE likes his guys to be lean as well....where in usual guys added a lot of water weight for big ten play
