Maybe, since he would have to go through admissions if he wants to enroll in January. He would not sign an NLI, however.

Hafiz will announce on the 19th.

I like the offer to Evans. I'm guessing we're recruiting him to play on the Defensive side of the ball.

Fingers crossed on Carney and Hafiz. Carney doesn't have to sign or announce, just enroll. Not saying that's what's going to happen.

Evans: spot on, IMO. Great athlete. Obviously, we need them.

We need a separate thread for the 2018 recruiting

I just don't think we have enough volume on the FB recruiting thread to warrant separate ones for each class. I do hope we get there someday, though, and that it's based on exuberant excitement about the recruiting momentum we have going thanks to the success of Lovie, his staff, and our football program!

Seems the 3 of us are in complete agreement, including what side of the ball for Evans. I was thinking SS, what do you think?

Just get him and let the DB coach figure it out. But, yeah, probly SS.

Need to stockpile these ++athletes and let the coaches do their thing.

Taylor vs Patterson will be a great battle to watch. We'd obviously take both, but I doubt it comes to that even if we may be the favorite for each right now.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm a little more biased towards Taylor but both would be perfect for McGee's offense.

Patterson has 13 offers right now while Taylor has 1 but I get the feeling that this is just the beginning for Taylor. This offer will open up the floodgates for him.

We got a CB predictions for Carney and Thomas. I guess that's some recruiting news.

Well that's something. One guy made both predictions and he's been right 78% of the time. :thumb: Both would be extremely huge gets and immediate impact guys. I know there are admission rumors about one of them but locking down ESTL is huge. I think Stanley Greens success is a big part of the recent or perceived recent success. It was interesting that Thomas made a comment in the past about players going to Missouri and not playing. Green comes in as a low 3 star and plays. His success plus Hawthorne at ESTL is huge.

if we couldn't get him, then I am happy oSu did

my son, a Sr there, just got home last Sat on semester break (they start school there in Aug a week before almost anyone else). He graduates as a Pickens Scholar in May. People here and people there always ask how did a smart kid from Hins Central end up there. Pretty easy to answer : they gave him a partial scholarship to start (50%), and gave him more last year as his grades were so good. But more importantly, the school admin , the towns people, and the parents of his fraternity brothers and the students are some of the BEST and NICEST people we have ever met.

The football gameday experience there is awesome, and they take the game seriously. There is no surprise at all when they land top rated commits. Yea, they find ways to get questionable kids in and have programs designed to keep them in, but that's the way it is at EVERY school that wants to win.

That school is a hidden gem. My son could not be happier with his time there so far. Grad school is next, and while not likely, he could be there 2 more years.

Well, today's the first day of the early signing period. Owen Carney and Carmoni Green are officially on the clock.

There's no early signing period for high school players. These kids would just enroll in January, if they are early enrollees.

Mid-year transfer JUCO players will sign NLIs.

Oops, my bad

No worries, although you bring up a good point.

Can someone point out any mid-year JUCO transfers we are targeting? Are guys like Phillips and Hughes planning on enrolling in January?
