Too lazy to look.....but how many diverse (minority) head coaches presently in the Big 10? My quick count comes up with 1 = Lovie. That will be a decisive factor in a small handful of "toss-up" decisions among talented HS athletes.

Purdue and Penn State, also. No?

Great interview on Mike & Mike. Needless to say, still pinching myself. They addressed some of the silliness in recruiting and Lovie handled it in stride.

What are the contact periods for college football coaches? I'm curious to find out what recruits Lovie contacts first.

I hope that Edwards endorsement gets repeated right thru the next signing date.

Missing from this tweet is the context. He said this on Mike and Mike. A lot of people listen to this show. A national sports talk show has people recruiting for us. Amazing.

Are there any Everet Golson-like opportunities on the market this year? Big time players unhappy with their situation, to which Lovie could be the solution?

One has to wonder when the next commitment will be & if any would even be accepted in the next 6 weeks if they werent top 150 talent .

For those who don't think Lovie's impact doesn't have a major affect on recruits in the state of Illinois follow this next tweet.

That's the type of response that JW, LS, and I, expect to get from in-state recruits..... :D

Saw that of the 4 people Lovie "follows" one is A.J. Epenesa. Looks like he is really trying to make a big splash in recruiting too. Hopefully that somehow comes to fruition, but I'm not sure I'd bet on it. I just never thought I'd feel this way about Illinois football in my life.

Isn't AJ already committed to Iowa? I thought I had read that

Don't know if they could get Epenesa to flip, but surely there's at least a chance now when there was none this time last week.

Yes and his dad played football and graduated from Iowa. It'd be great, but like I said, I wouldn't bet on it.

Illinois has a history of losing legacy recruits, time for that trend to end and to take some from other programs.

Who cares where his dad played? Maybe AJ might consider Lovie a coach that would be able to build him into a NFL defensive end.

I doubt Lovie can flip Epenesa, he seems pretty set on Iowa and has lots of other great options if not.

I think it's more about making the statement that he's going to go hard after the best players in the state that we didn't have a chance at before.
