In the last 4 yrs I've been watching the recruiting from afar ,following the coaches on Twitter , watching all the gossip and so on. What is different about this staff is that all of these coaches, especially on Twitter are following as many coaches as players . I think this shows the mentality of these coaches and that they get it. I think we will do better recruiting this year but the foundation that these coaches are putting in place could set us up extremely nicely in the years to come. I like many others I'm sure hate this slow time , o well how's the saying go, good things come to those who wait.:shield:

I agree, Oranges Warm: this staff has shown a tremendous amount of professionalism and polish so far. I think they're going to take us to the promised land, even if it takes a few years to build the roster and culture.

This is really depressing. We get Lovie and everyone seems to love Lovie. Kids have been gushing over the guy, and then they commit elsewhere.

He hasn't committed anywhere yet. It also might be a good time to revisit how large a project you believe this football program to be. Lovie was an out of this world hire, but nothing short of Nick Saban or Urban Meyer was going to make a huge splash in the 2017 class.

Aye aye aye! Unrealistic expectations. We're not going to corner the market. Recalibrate. Kid hasn't committed.

#OU RB/KR Alex Ross is leaving #Oklahoma as a graduate transfer. Is eligible this fall.

6.4 ypc on 123 career rushes and 5 TDs at OU, grad transfer. 2 KR TDs, 53 returns. Not much of a pass catcher (11 rec). Has been an All American as a kick returner (2014, 2nd team).

Would fill two pretty big needs for us!

He may want to go somewhere that he can be the #1 rb and I dont think he would be here. But he can definitely be the 1KR if he wants.

Unfortunate that we aren't in Jeff Thomas' top 6. Didn't think we had a chance with Cubit, but thought the new staff with Lovie at the top would reel him in. He and Smalling are my top 2 WR's in the state.

Ross has broken off some huge runs in his career, definitely a playmaker. Has had rushes of 82, 54, 50, 42, 38, and 34 yards. On the other hand that would seem to indicate he isn't consistently getting yardage on every carry.

Are we really going to start this already? Illini fans laid down incredibly unrealistic expectations for Groce. Let's not make the same mistake here.

Of course we are. That's what we do.

I would not confuse the general fan population with this board.
