5'9 190. With that speed and cutting ability is a darn good prospect. This kid adds 10lbs or so and we are going to have a bowling ball with speed.

Pair him with our two huge OL commits and the defense won't see him until it's to late.

For my money, Boyd and Oladipo are the two most exciting recruits in the class. Physically dominant interior linemen with major Power Five offers from geographic areas which we target but have often performed poorly in.

We didn't used to win those battles. And even during the brief Zook period when we did, we didn't have the coaches in place to develop and scheme them properly.

It's early days yet and we're still a bit behind the 8-ball. But if this is the kind of recruiting performance we can expect going forward, we're going to get somewhere Illinois has not been in our lifetimes. Not fleeting dominance, but consistent, reliable, sustainable solidness.

Give me 25 Larry Boyd's over 3 Arrelious Benn's any day of the week.

Man highlight tapes like this are fun to watch. Tough for the kid if he wanted to commit without a solid offer. Beaumont Ozen is full of athletes.

This is why the day after Lovie was hired i became a season ticket holder.

Who? To what school?

I'm guessing Calvin Tyler was looking to jump on the Lovie Express. I believe he deleted his tweet about announcing tomorrow after re-tweeting a bunch of Illini stuff and now others have said there's been a change of plans. Kind of feel bad for the kid if true.

We picked up two guys today who could very well end up on the two deep for next year's team. One of the best football recruiting days I can remember in quite some time.

In football it seems like the coaches continue to recruit those players they really want to the very end. Probably explains all the last minute flips. So if there is an instate talent who may have committed prior to Lovie's arrival or after, you bet we continue to pursue if there is an open line of communication at the other end.

To that point, 19 of the top 20 Illinois in-state players have committed (3 Illini). Have to wonder if there's any shot at any of those guys flipping.

I know there was some noise around EJ Epenesa being Lovie's first recruit that he followed on Twitter. That would be a very very very long-shot I understand. But THAT would signal that Illinois means some serious business.

I like that a bit better as it tempers expectations. I've always used 6.54 (85/13).. football scholarships/basketball scholarships.

I also agree with offer lists though. They are the most telling, particularly in football where the responsibilities of each player are very different and the shear amount of prospects is staggering.

the way I look at it is, there is 76 I think power 5 schools, so take the pos. amount of them you play so say CB 76x2=152 so any CB rated above 152 would be those they are saying are Power 5 recruits

agree we need 4 or 5 more DL but id add OL as well 3 or 4 more would be real nice

Out of our 12 commits are any looking to enroll early ?

I believe carmoni is going to enroll early....just think carmoni thiemann and smalling at wr along with a healthy dudek with Cameron Thomas at qb that's dangerous!!!!!

Watched his tapes. He's a little undersized (possible redshirt) but he has great football instincts. Crazy quick burst, great vision and he would be a fantastic offensive asset if used correctly. I see him as a small guy NFL type specialist. Special teams, extra wideout, screen plays, etc.. Either way, a kid that fast will require attention. I hope we get him.

Reminds me of Rocky Harvey
