Considering FSU should be able to get whatever 5 star QB they want after Jameis, I'd say it's probably a decent chance his verbal doesn't stick.

I have a gut feeling he doesn't have a lot of interest in what he calls "Illinois University."

If we're taking another QB in this class, I hope it is a JUCO QB that can come in and compete right away for the starting spot. If not, go for a 5th year transfer student.

Trent Frazier did it 2-3 days before he committed to the basketball program.

Committed to Florida State at the beginning of the month, about 2 weeks after they had offered. I'll call it unlikely but he's intriguing nonetheless. 6'5", a bit thin at the moment but looks like he could add some size.

Highlights from his first game shows he's got some mobility too: http://247sports.com/Bolt/FSU-QB-commit-starts-season-with-a-win-46998682

Nice looking prospect. Looks to be a very accurate thrower. He seems like more of a catch and shoot pocket guy than what we're supposedly after, but he definitely has some mobility.

looks capable in terms of physical tools. I just think he can improve by watching film and releasing the ball quicker or before he sees a guy is wide open.

Good to see Ricky Smalling and Br. Rice take Micah Awodiran's Marist squad to the woodshed.

Clearly Lovie is not settling down with Cam Thomas as the "future"

In looking at his film, I like the arm strength, height and confidence but still looks really raw. Obviously not someone that is going to step right in and be the guy. He is a twig right now but our strength and diet program can fix that.

I don't see his commitment lasting at FSU. If he really considers himself a pocket passer then he is most likely unwilling to change positions at all if he gets recruited over, which can easily happen at FSU.

I just don't think we are to the place yet where we should be doing this to kids if its the case. Why offer them then tell them you have to wait were not sure we want you all that bad yet

Clearly you never spend any time on the basketball board.

I spend a lot of time there as well there is a big difference when you have 1-5 scollys vs 25-30 most years I would love it if we get both sports back to the place where we can afford to pass on good players knowing we can get better . but right now I just do not see us at that level in either

That's fair. My comment was mostly tongue and cheek since committable offers, over-signing, Creaning, silent verbals, walking on to free up scholarships, etc., seem to discussed on a day to day basis over there.

100% agree . Watched Blackman's tape yesterday an went back to watch Thomas's as well. what I saw did not show Blackman running the ball rather passing on the move. He moves well and should be able to stay out of trouble and make positive yards unlike Lunt. Thomas 's tape was the first I had watched this season and I wanted to compare the two I prefer Thomas because they tape showed me more of what he can do not necessarily being better than Blackman. Both need oodles of work but Thomas is closer and Illinoy is right about the the delivery of Blackman's ball that was one of the two immediate items I saw on JB. The other 50 pounds of weight which concerns me but he passes on the move which I think he would retain that even with a huge weight gain, running on the other who knows.

MSU DT Enoch Smith is transferring. Seeing that he played at Chicago Mt. Carmel, is there any chance we go after him?

I thought he was an Illini lean at one point. I know he was allied about a bit at least.

I'd gladly take him!

Looks like Spartan fans only have nice things to say about him on Twitter (responses to his announcement). Wonder if they would be singing the same tune if he comes to Champaign.

Does that rule still apply that if you transfer within the conference you have to pay your own way ( no schollie)?
