Over the last week and In M Hughes case months plus I have watched some excellent tape. Now always based partly on potential but the from juco champs from Kansas all landed 4 star rating from me. So extremely high on board along Green and Palczewski who were just a little space below 4 star. Love to have them all.

from what I watched this kid would make a perfect strong'front side tackle he is a big dude he wouldn't have to play for at least 2 years could be a monster by then

Have you had a chance to look at the tapes for Dwayne Lawson and Del'shawn Phillips? Sorry if I missed it, but I'd love to read your thoughts on them. Thanks!

Ft as I said loved all 3. All show exceptional athleticism , speed while flashing big play game changing ability, while showing very solid basic position technique.;):D

BillMo I think your right he is a monster a zombie at least when I watched his tape from junior year about 4-5 months ago. That said like the the commits and others that have mutual interest I will to go back and watch their senior tapes.
Now by zombie I am referring to his lack of quickness heavy legged movement.
Always surprises on those good an bad. So my tune might change but as of now, No.
I would take Palczewski before 365 days of the and plus one on leap year

that's kind of my point too he isn't real quick so you play him as front side, unless with 2 years of growing and working out he could improve his quickness and first step he would be a bad pick for back side . but the kid is just to big and he has good tech to not try to get, he is a for sure RS, and wouldn't be ready his 2nd year but then you start to hope he is starting to get there. I would love to see us get at least 6 OL guys and if he is your 5th or 6th best its a pretty good crop. First thing I always look for in there film is what there head does on the snap

Still a very small LB. So if he's 5'10 210.... that's very unlike us recently when we have been looking at longer taller athletic kids for LBs.

I mean you're right. I don't know where the envision him particularly but the kid is a tackling machine. He gets all over the field.

I think it's to get Thomas. I'm thinking all of Estes, Thomas, and Knight committ.

This would make me so happy. Haven't we offered Lagrone as well?

Hawthorne would deserve a lot of credit if all these kids come here. It seems like that coaching staff was steering kids towards Missouri for some reason (See Simms).

Estes, Thomas, Knight and Lagrone are all taking unofficial visits to Illinois this weekend. This weekend is going to be huge.

If they are making offers to his teammates, they better be certain Thomas will qualify.

Plus Phillips making his official visit.

These guys are all worthy of offers whether Thomas qualifies or not.

Just watching Stanley Green this year and the 7A title game is enough to convince me that these kids know how to tackle and know how to play defense. Knight and Lagrone would fit in nicely in Nickerson's defense.

I get BillMo you genuinely like this young man. To me at best he would be a back maybe rotational guy by year 4. Hold on want to check something.
Caleb Jones got the lowest rating of the 26 tapes of o-line I reviewed. Now I did look at all the tapes as I did not bother already committed kids when I started looking about 3 months ago. Again his senior tape might show me something different but until I would watch that the walking zombie reference still stands.
Of the 4 guys we are still chasing who show interest in return aside from Jones who received a low 3 * rating of 5.75. The 3 of the 4 received high 3 * ratings. Mixon 7.25 while Palczewski and Fedd-Jones a 7.0. Only Watkins was close and not because so much of his athletic ability at 6.0 . Who on many occasions I have mentioned I am not wild about. You can guess my next choices.
That said if we get I would love for MR Jones to prove me wrong.

Weight has been updated to 210lbs

Watched part of the tape on him he did not even look the 5'10 186 to me. To me based on the half tape I saw he would be an in box safety to me. Question is what are actual measurement because he can play.

I don't am guessing but I don't think LaGrones is commitible (sp?) at this time.
