I don't get what everyone is talking about. We lost Hardee, Taylor, Grant and Cain from this year from the WR room.

Thomas, Smalling, Green, Roberson, Smith(maybe, think he plays DB with Adams)

Dudek is coming off his second ACL injury
Dom Thieman coming off broken ankle

And to be brutally honest the only WRs we have that are ready aka- not coming off injury or won't be here until the freshman class gets on campus are:

Turner, Mays, McGriff........early enrolle C.Green.........And Holcombe if you say he's a WR or TE. Which I think he will be TE, he will add weight and be more of a mix then just WR.

Basically 4 WRs will be able to go for awhile.......not a lot to do much of anything. With 2 of the 4 have not played in college yet.

So I say we get as many talented WRs we can get on this team.

I agree 100%, plus if we can get them all it means we don't have to really look for as many next year , when we are going to have a smaller class. If we land all these WR it should set us up well at WR and RB for the next few years I just Hope Mike D ad Drown can both come back Healthy and stay healthy

Seems like a whole lot of guessing going on here. Roberson has been a priority, the most you'll see about us on his feed right now is likely graphics. Not everyone is going to be Dorsey on social media. He's gotten multiple in-homes with AHS, and has been a top target for some time. There's quite a few incoming FR at WR, but Turner is a SR, and if we thought we didn't need him, we wouldn't be recruiting him. Additionally, slotting Thomas in to anything before he gets through clearinghouse is silly.

Regarding Minnesota recruits, they're currently 14th in the B1G and have the 12th worst avg ranking of recruit, not a whole lot worth going after. I like the uncommitted guys left on our board.

His highlights shows him to be a man amongst boys. What are our chances?

He's visiting us so obviously we have a chance, however VT is going to be tough to beat. We can obviously offer him playing time this fall.

Just that we have a chance and it's in lovies hands makes me comfortAble

We probably need a couple more DEs. Who is realistically left?

Ernest Bagner:

Has he visited us or is he going to visit us? Seems like he has a number of options.

Bobby Roundtree:

http://247sports.com/player/bobby-roundtree-89205

Visited us for the Iowa game and I believe we had an in-home visit with him last month? Haven't heard much else about him coming to Illinois.

Daniel Callendar:

http://247sports.com/player/daniel-callendar-46037471

Visited us on the 10th and we had an in-home visit with him before that. He doesn't have a lot of great offers and he looks to be a bit more of a project than some of the other guys we are targeting.

Zion Debose:

http://247sports.com/player/zion-debose-83083

He's visiting on the 14th and has a number of nice offers. He looks like he has the potential to be on the 2 deep this fall.

Esezi Otomewo:

http://247sports.com/player/esezi-otomewo-83819

Current WMU commit with an Illinois offer. Seems to be a bit of a project and he could follow Fleck to Minnesota. I'm not sure how much interest there is either way.

Nate Ulmor:

http://247sports.com/player/nate-umlor-87309

He committed to WMU back in March. It will be interesting to see if we go after him.

Deon Pate:

Appalachian State commit who we offered last month. Any chance with him? 247 doesn't even list the offer. Can we get a visit?

Jalen Harris is interesting. His father played at Arizona and he is a top 500 player on 247. Scout lists him as an Athlete as well and he would definitely need to bulk up. His coach says he could also be a WR or OLB. Seems like a tough flip and he has a lot of great offers so he would be an outstanding get.

He's got a younger brother (Class if 2020) that is already 6'6 225 lbs

Any Western Michigan recruits that we should be interested in now that P.J. is gone? I noticed there are alot from Illinois.

These guys aren't from Illinois but Esezi Otomewo and Nate Ulmor have/had Illinois offers. If we can't close the deal with Bagner and/or Debose they are worth looking at.

Some of the OL commits from Illinois look ok but they don't have a lot of great offers and would only be looked at if we were desperate to fill out the class, which we're not.

Who do you think they should go after?

Outside of Umlor and Otomewo, I'm not seeing too many guys at positions of need:

http://westernmichigan.247sports.com/Season/2017-Football/Commits

Thomas? Campbell? I think we're in on guys who are much better.

Campbell would be number one. Offered by Ole Miss and Syracuse the last couple of days. He has several Power 5 offers. Hayward and Hubbard show Illinois interest. Hayward shows an Illinois offer.

THIS

Maybe because we've had lean years at the position while at the same time having great success w running backs and defenders like a kid in Willy Wonkas factory I want them all and I want them now.

Besides we almost always need DBs as well and WR to DB is one of the easiest transitions in football

Speed kills

Love that kids decommiting from WMU HAVE GOT to give Lovie a look.

Keep the news flowing guys!
