Best quarterback in the state of Texas. To me, that is high praise.

Sounds like the staff is making a push for Kevyon Davis 3* Safety from TX, recent decommit from La Tech.

It's interesting that they are focused on bringing in another safety in this class. Kinda surprised, but maybe there are going to be some younger player(s) leaving after this year that will increase class size. Personally was hoping to see another LB or two than the current makeup.

I would guess that anyone not named Williams, Nelson, Green, DeGroot would have a high chance of leaving.

I think that in many positions. Example: most lineman that aren’t a true freshman right now I could see leaving.

It will be very interesting to see who transfers out. Very few of the older players on the roster have held onto their spot. Maybe the most disappointing was that the Freshmen OL's surpassed such highly ranked 3rd year players like Gabe & Solomon.

Ugh I hate that. I do enjoy the confused looks when I say pop though.

My son has been in the Houston burbs for 18 yrs. Nobody talks like that there. Everybody is from somewhere else.

And it's soda:D

Do we have any schollies to backdate?

I don't know if we do?

It will be interesting to see if the limit of 25 will be an issue this year? That would mean 8+ players would need to transfer. I could see that happening, although that is quite a bit of turnover.

Like others have implied, there are a number of red shirt Juniors who I could see not having their scholarships renewed. A couple are in the secondary and a few are listed as TEs. I'm not sure what we'll do with Crouch? I don't think he has much of a future here as a TE/HB since he's hardly played since the Iowa game. Maybe some of the OL who aren't upper classmen will move on since a number of them are behind Freshmen on the depth chart.

Nate Echard could also petition for a 6th year and I hope he gets it since he is/was arguably the best blocker on the team. He would add some depth at TE and I like him better than Roberts at FB.

We offered DE Zach Petersen on Tuesday:

I'm glad we're looking to add a DE in this class. It looks like they have tried Woods at SDE at times this year, but I'd expect that only 3 of the DL from the last class (Gay, Roundtree and Carney) will stick at DE. We also lose Crawford and I noticed that Abercrombie was moved back to LB when we got thin due to injuries there. Adensanya has barely played since conference play started so I don't expect him to be much of a contributor if he returns.

The ultimate test of how much you trust the coaching staff's scouting ability. He has an offer from only Illinois and Minnesota-Moorhead.

If we continue to have success in the scouting realm, it will be interesting to see who starts offering as soon as news breaks that we've offered.

MJ Rivers will not enroll early but he's said he will sign in December.

Pardon my ignorance, but how is that possible?

Is he juco? Sorry if I missed that.

Even high school players who enroll early don't technically sign a LOI until February. Even them, from what I remember, it is a moot point since they are already enrolled.

This is the first year that football will have an early signing period for high school students, which will be in December. It's less than two months early, so I'm not exactly sure the point. Maybe it will lessen last minute flipping. If I recall, the coaches wanted it after the season.

High School players are now allowed to sign in December. There is a 72 hour window for them to do it, from December 20th through December 22nd:

MJ Rivers has said he plans on signing with Illinois on December 20th since he's not interested in going anywhere else.
