Seriously?
He knows today that he'll know what he wants to do on Jan 3, literally 3 months from now?
That is . . . ummm . . . intriguing.

I don’t know if he knows yet. A lot depends on if we win games or not. As he has said himself

Outside of Ira and Shammond anyone else that we are in making decisions in the next few months or any new targets we are looking at?

Correction. “ONE” of his dream schools.

:thumb:
You are correct, sir. I was going off of the article which states "This was a big offer considering in the tweet he mentions the offer is from his dream school." I should have looked at the actual tweet.

I really like how this is turning out so far. Just saying -
1. IL wins 3 more games
2. Gets lucky and gets a bowl game
3. Shammond picks IL on the national stage and IL gets some big time exposure
4. More recruits check us out

Not saying.....just saying

I like your interpretation.

I actually think that he already knows and is waiting because that is what he said he would do. Even though winning can "technically" improve our chances, I don't like time in this recruitment. Thinking about the decision is more likely to hurt us than help us

I love this. Higher risk, but higher reward if he does choose Illini. Not that we have a choice in the matter, but I kind of like the leverage this creates and potential for momentum.

My gut is that this is an Illini vs OU battle. Speculating fully of twitter, I see a kid who has a family, home, and teammates at UI. But also a kid who loves what OU program is that UI is not. This may come down to his personality as a teenager and preference for “home” vs “getting away to something new”.

Shammond recruitment feels like OU all the way. Sure hope I’m wrong.

Cooper waiting:
Pro: Tex and ou might fill up lb schollies. Ill does well on field.
Con: since announcing after early signing day, other schools might come along that didn’t get lb targets.
Hope he is fixed on these 4. If he really wants ou, better to commit early, before signing day. Players supposedly have a better idea what the real interest is with early signing Day. Maybe truthfully interested in Illinois season? Will be interesting.

Was going to say maybe cooper is evaluating OU staff, as Lincoln Riley took over job last year, but mike stoops and Kish have been there for a very long time, so nothing really to check out.
Hopefully illinois is being evaluated by a lot of these guys, waiting to see progress/improvement

Maybe I'm wrong, but shouldn't our recruiting class be getting bigger, not smaller? This isn't a good sign when there are a few other Trinity players that the Illini need to commit

Losing trinity players would be brutal

There was a strong belief after Williams committed that he would bring 3 or 4 teammates with him. It's starting to look like there is a real possibility that zero TC players join him in the O&B

WR Bryce Childress decommits from Illinois

Hate to lose a long time commit, but seems to be nature of today’s “commitments”.

Honestly to me the most concerning thing is the TC factor. The more Illini momentum at that school the better. Our recruiting class is actually quite crowded at WR/CB - doesn’t hurt to have more athletes and let the best win out on campus, but I don’t think this is an enormous loss
