I mean, Smallings gotta have more to give right? His FR year oozed potential.
Semi related, does the peanut gallery know if a grad transfer that gets hurt can medical RS and play the next year? Mainly asking because of Meadors.
I don't see why not.

Immediately eligible for one season, per the UI press release.Huge boost to 2019, huge. He'll be a junior, correct? Could be even better for 2020. Very excited today.
he played in 2015, 2016, sat out 2017 with injury and played in 2018. We will have him for a year on the football team while he gets his Masters in Chemistry.Huge boost to 2019, huge. He'll be a junior, correct? Could be even better for 2020. Very excited today.

From what I read, the list of grad transfer QBs who would be immediately eligible to play is not deep. Wimbush (ND) and Hurts ('Bama, if he decides to transfer) lead the list, but there is a pretty big drop off after that; I think you're looking at the backups at Texas, Cal and USF, and then some guys from FCS schools. Makes me think that the Illini's 2019 starting QB likely is already on the roster. I'm OK with that - receivers like Thomas, Ford, Smalling & Miller can make their QBs look pretty good.No insider, but I feel there is going to be a proven grad transfer QB coming. Believe we are done at OL, but also feel there is a LB ad well.
Thomas Smalling Miller is going to be the first time we had three upperclassmen starting BIG caliber receivers since when?
Does 10 years not qualify for his statement? We went 3-9 with 16 NFL players in 2009.

I’m not sure 5-7 wins is high expectations, but this is where my expectations are for 2019. Then 7-9 for 2020I definitely think that's possible. We should have high expectations!
Can Illinois get the TE involved? Remains to be seen.

When have you seen an Illinois team involve the TE in anything other than blocking?
