young defense?Do you remember the terrible defense?
Just wondering about Petitbon transfer. Did colors O&B have anything to do with it? As in Lovie, former O&B Bears coach; Grampa Petitbon , although Tulane, wore O&B as a Bear. Man, was he good! Whatever.
Will Richie enroll in a graduate school program? Do you have to as a grad transfer?
And now I hear Illinois offered Luke Petitbon. Great to have that last name at Illinois.
One more question: if it's true Miami players voted not to welcome Thomas back, does that help his waiver chances?
Did that actually happen? I assumed that was the only way he’d leave. I also wonder how that affects the waiver, since he wasn’t allowed to play at his previous school.One more question: if it's true Miami players voted not to welcome Thomas back, does that help his waiver chances?
Great post.Honestly, I’m a little worried that the perceived effort by JT to try and get back in with Miami will make it apparent that the hardship at school (Richt and staff) and the hardship at home (being away from daughter) are no longer hardships.
Thus, eliminating the chance of a waiver. Hopefully the NCAA doesnt see it like that.
His brother has had an offer for a little bit now...also the Miami players want JT back.Just wondering about Petitbon transfer. Did colors O&B have anything to do with it? As in Lovie, former O&B Bears coach; Grampa Petitbon , although Tulane, wore O&B as a Bear. Man, was he good! Whatever.

Don't know. At least one account claimed Hurricanes vetoed his returning. Forgot which one; just google Jeff Thomas to read Florida stuff about his sticking with Illini. Isn't there something called "fake news" going around?Did that actually happen? I assumed that was the only way he’d leave. Maybe the interest in going back, and being welcomed back, is so he can show he is "in good standing on the team."a waiver can be granted if the following conditions are met :
a. The transfer is due to documented mitigating circumstances that are outside the student-athlete’s control and directly impact the health, safety and well-being of the student-athlete;
b. At the time of transfer to the certifying institution, the student-athlete would have been athletically and academically eligible and in good standing on the team had he or she remained at the previous institution;
c. The certifying institution must certify that the student-athlete meets percentage-of-degree requirements; and
d. The previous institution’s athletics administration does not oppose the transfer.
we just don't know if JT can satisfy any of these points right now. Maybe he can, but its possible he doesn't meet the tests for b & d.
I really wonder how much time and effort the NCAA puts into researching these types of things. The cynical side of me thinks, not much.Honestly, I’m a little worried that the perceived effort by JT to try and get back in with Miami will make it apparent that the hardship at school (Richt and staff) and the hardship at home (being away from daughter) are no longer hardships.

Just make sure they also sprinkle some pixie dust on the defense.After the Petitbon transfer, if we somehow get waivers for both JT and Ford, and then Tate shows up later this summer, it is beyond rational argument that our program has been touched by some magical interstellar football god via inter-dimensional portals using a sophisticated combination of quantum mechanics and quantum physics allowing this other worldly being to alter the timeline for Illinois football.

Right, I think he may have totally kneecapped his chances of getting a waiver. The entire thing was pretty dumb and poorly handled by all parties!
