it seems simple. we need a balance of h.s. recruits and transfers but until we make two consecutive bowl games
and get into the top three teams in the BIG10 west we will not recruit 4 and 5 start h.s. kids. we will always take
transfers, but hopefully someday we can cherry pick the best fits.

I think this kid was supposed to visit in June and the staff pushed his visit back or canceled it. I don’t think he has officially visited us, so don’t think we are in this one.

For good or bad, my barometer for how much we've discovered a gem there is how much trouble we have holding on to him.
There are schools poking around (yes that was intentional) ... But I wouldn't worry about losing him ... They don't think he will de-commit ...
I know an SEC school reached out as well ...
Cal received a bump on Rivals. He is also one who I believe will honor his commitment. Lunney/ILLINI offered him when no one other D! program did. This kid has all the tools to be great, it's up to Lunney to coach him up to his potential.

Yes, 247 has taken down their history rankings link. Only indicator of a rankings bump is the Rivals article that posts him now as a top-25 pocket passer in this class: https://illinois.rivals.com/news/rivals-rankings-illini-qb-commit-cal-swanson-gets-a-bump
I wonder if they took it down because it was exposing their lack of true evaluations and showing proof that they simply slotted players based on either who they were offered by or where they committed. (At least for a large majority of players)
