I like the addition of Sanders because you don’t make that many catches without knowing how to get open. You need those guys. That being said, after watching the Indiana game I’d love for this team to be able to add a tall/big bodied receiver as well. The problem is everyone wants those guys.

for sure, but it "helps" that we've really sucked for going on a couple of generations. thankfully, the worm is beginning to turn (WRT in-state kids).
as to Hulak, he goes to a small private Catholic school. I don't think we had a chance (at least against the big boys)

Wilcher & Sanders seem pretty complementary. With Beatty too, I think we're gonna be ok at slot.
WRT to rangy and speedy: load up on Hollins' stock (love our Mississippi pipeline and hope we add to it. also, great personal story and fantastic ID by staff)
Draft stock of IW is going to stay the same whether he comes out this year or next. One of those guys that brings so much to the college game and I just appreciate it while he is on the team. Same thing last year with Chase Brown. I would love to see IW back for another season but it makes sense if he moves onto the next level.

Here comes a slew of "I know"'s, but I'll ask anyways:
- I know that Illinois isn't listed as offered
- I know he's already committed (TAMU) and likely connected to NIL money that doesn't matter about the coach
- I know that he's in Elmhurst, which I've already mentioned isn't an Illinois friendly area
- I know that Illinois already has two TE commitments
- I know he took visits to other schools (Florida + Michigan State)
....that said, is there any way the program kicks the tires on Eric Karner on if he wants to stay closer to home? His size is awesome and there are plenty of blocking TEs already on the roster but a lack of pass catchers, something Karner will excel at. I'm worried if he doesn't stick at TAMU that he'll give hard looks at Iowa and Northwestern.

Karner isn’t from Elmhurst. I believe he lives in bloomingdale

Karner goes to Immaculate Conception in Elmhurst...he might live somewhere else but he goes to that high school in Elmhurst. My niece is dating him right now. I talked to her dad, my brother-in-law, just last night and as of right now he's still in on A&M. As long as his position coach stays he probably goes there. If that changes he could go somewhere else. But, I don't think there is any interest in Illinois and staying close to home isn't important to him. He visited Illinois in February and since they didn't offer it doesn't appear as though there is any interest there...or really in any other B1G schools. If he does decommit from A&M he's looking at other SEC schools.

I dont live too far from Elmhurst and I know that IC has been able to benefit a little for various reasons - one being Driscoll in Addison closing 10-15 years ago
but the history of players, esp from tiny schools in the midwest, tearing it up in the SEC or PAC is not good

It’s hard to say Elmhurst is abi when York has produced 1 d1 player in 10 years. Most kids from ic don’t live in Elmhurst. So the thing about Elmhurst kids not going to Illinois doesn’t make sense.
Ic has a very good coaching staff and they have developed a good culture. This years team had 3 high major kids but historically their teams are full up try hard d3 kids. Driscoll closing helps some but they have done a good job going into proviso township and getting kids.
Also KJ Parker who’s an iowa commit camped at Illinois and didn’t get an offer. Matt Bowen coaches at ic and it’s not like he’s had much influence in pushing karner and hulak to iowa. In high school football the 7on7 programs have a lot of say in their players recruitments
