hopefully we'll find out near/on signing day. that's been the pattern the past few years to keep other P5 programs from sniffing around.Did we have a late bloomer in-state prospect this year? Feels like we didn’t?

Definitely qualifies, more impact than top 100 Teaxa recruit (Beason) and Top 350 Missouri LB recruit from 4 years ago. Seems like he will be a solid contributor. Not sure what your definition of late bloomer in-state prospect is — jumped in ratings late in his senior year, relatively low ranking/rating — nor if by this year you mean 2023 recruit playing this year or a 2024 recruit, but Mac Resetich might qualify. Ended up a nationally, unranked 3* who was ranked mid-thirty in state, and getting some play this year. Had that pick against IU and 3 solos versus Iowa.
Same with I Wills.Daniel Browns do well at UI.
Like he won’t be good enough or he will leave for greener pastures? The walk-on from Mt. Carmel, Sisson, won't be at Illinois longer than 1 year. He'll never last.
He wouldn't be leaving for greener pastures. He's athletic but not a defender and won't be good enough at QB or WR.Like he won’t be good enough or he will leave for greener pastures?
It’s a little early to make that prediction on a preferred walk-on who was probably encouraged to walk on under the premise that he would have to develop physically and mentally for the next couple years. The fact that he’s athletic is half the battle. If he can find the right position, which won’t be QB, then who knows what his ceiling is. And maybe he never sees the field, but stays content being part of a B1G football program. The walk-on from Mt. Carmel, Sisson, won't be at Illinois longer than 1 year. He'll never last.

Assuming things like:Hearing some very positive things regarding a couple of the visitors we have on campus …
Brutal. I loved his tape.
We need recruiting positivity after that game and decommitment. We need so much more depth and talent.Hearing some very positive things regarding a couple of the visitors we have on campus …
