I promise this isn't sour grapes, but I would rather have Lee than Pride. Pride's ceiling is higher but Lee has already done what you hope Pride can do in 2024. If Illinois snagged one of Lee or Turner, I would be really happy. If they got both, that would be a huge turnaround for that room.

Isn't Pride committed to Mizzou?

Here's where I have pride on the list:

  1. Lust: MSU (at least as related to football team consultants)
  2. Gluttony: USC
  3. Greed: Texas
  4. Sloth: Vanderbilt
  5. Wrath: Iowa
  6. Envy: Alabama (maybe I can send a kid there so I can root for them)
  7. Pride: Notre Dame (in ridiculous over-abundance)

Illinois could pick up a fan from the portal. Anyone here thinking of entering? I'm giving it at least one more year.

I really want him, but we just don't have the money to get a player like that.
I would think these kids are looking at what program can get them to the nfl- we are getting 3star athlete, coaching them up and making them top 10 picks- that has to have a huge impact on their decision.

Being a top 10 pick in the nfl is a much bigger payday than what they will make in NIL- coaches have to be selling that.

Frankly that is how the top programs got to be the top destinations- putting guys in the nfl- we are now putting guys in the NFL (on defense at least) who are having nfl success at a very high rate on par with top programs- plus we have immediate playing time- your not competing with other 5 star kids to play

HS weight. He was listed as a WR initially.
Ball State's website lists him at 240lb
He'd be a pretty decent get. No idea if he's athletic enough to keep up the production that he's had in the MAC, but with Tip gone we need another proven contributor.

We have guys like Boyer to fill in at Y and contribute in a blocking role. Tanner would be moved over the field and create mismatches

sure. we play multiple TEs a game and Arkin hasn't had a ton of production yet. Wouldn't hurt to have another capable TE to help replace Tip. He was on the field all the time.
