The OL is taken care of now. I wish we could get another DT and CB to finish things off.
Is it? Who are the top 3 OTs on the team? J.C. Davis seems locked in at left tackle but the staff is putting a lot of faith in a 2nd year Henderson to man the right side. None of the other upperclassmen have proven they can handle the outside. This new addition? Personally responsible for 24 penalties last year alone at Grambling. Failing to secure the right tackle spot cost Illinois a bowl game this year.

Where is Priestly expected to compete? G or T?

Agree on the RT spot questions, unless they think a healthy Zy will get reps in the spring and be the leading contender to lock that down. If so, I really like the competition upfront with the transfer additions

DeBoer leaving creates an interesting dynamic for Washington players. Traditionally you follow your coach, but DeBoer is going to land of freak athletes. Unless Bama has mass transfers or losing signees themselves, it's going to be very difficult for KD to take more than a couple of them.

Some names that stick out: BJ Green (DL transfer from Arizona State), Jaivion Green (UW CB who entered the portal a couple days ago and played often in his first two years), and Curley Reed (long-ball, connected to Cooks, highly ranked HS prospect who was a freshman this season).

Seeing some comments on social media that Priestly will start at RT. I'm predicting Henderson takes the first snap at right tackle.
It’s good to have options Priestly has 1300 college snaps under his belt had a 76 pff run block grade and a 78 pass block grade- albeit FCS, we would love that from a RT

He’s got the athletic ability and physicality to be effective in the big ten- just need Bart and the coaches to coach him up

Agree on the oline costing them games. First half of season entire oline was not competent, did not gel, and that was on staff putting them in right places.
From the outside it seemed like they were relying on Zy. But he was hurt- who took the practice reps, as Adam’s likely repped at guard? Didn’t show up in games once Zy did not play well.
It is in staff to get it right this offseason and be ready game one. Rest of line has another year of development; hopefully someone emerges as return player or newcomer, at least there appears to be options now.

Couldn't agree more. If Henderson is as advertised, you have a great insurance policy in Priestly, and he realizes Bielema's quote about never wanting to be lack in offensive line options again. If Henderson isn't quite ready, Priestly starts at RT.

I think Zy proved this year he is incapable of playing RT. Just not quick or reactive enough. He should do a solid job at RG, but he's not an RT.

Yes- I know they are long shots but Washington is losing 3 DB’s :

CB Jabbar Muhammad (937 snaps) - 2nd team all pac 12

S/CB Mishael Powell (876 snaps) 3 int

CB Jaivion Green (105 snaps)

Would love any of them. I would have to think with our track record of putting DB’s in the league we should at least give it a shot - NIL might be hard to compete with but these guys were not making that much at UW- a starting job and chance to learn under one of the best DB coaches in the country hopefully can win the day

Muhammad would be a massive get, home run. He absolutely will cost NIL. Powell would bet a slight step down but also a major get. Green would be an improvement over the current situation but still have some unknowns.

I assume that, having not watched any Grambling game, Priestly played with a high school attitude. That's on the Grambling Line Coach and Head Coach. Our coaches won't permit that.
While penalties could be a sign of lack of concentration- Tyler Smith, for example, led the NCAA in penalties for Tulsa but was a first round pick and one of the better rookie lineman in the NFL- penalties can be coached out of you and I think Bart and the staff can improve his technique and reduce them quite a bit

Davis, Wigenton, Kruetz, Zy, Henderson/Priestly.
With Dennis, Gesky, Whitenack and Hansen as 2 deep/ competition?

Do we still have Dezmond Schuster? A Juco transfer from a year a go?
Point being, we have a lot more depth at OL now. I'm not concerned about that area as much anymore. How many years in the past did we barely have a starting 5? Now, we have about 10 players to fit in and be a starter.
