Normal has 2 high schools. 1 of them is 7Aor 8a. Usually goes deep in football playoffs every year until they play Chicago schools.
What pushes a team over the top? Is it having the best top 40 players or getting the best 86-105 players? I think most boosters would be more excited for the former. Some might argue that it's not an either/or argument, however no matter how much money a program has, at some point the resources are finite.
I thinking more of a team adding 86th player.Imagine trying to keep 105 scholarship players happy

Just spitballing a scenario here:
After getting a bumper crop of recruits and transfers team loses a Heisman caliber QB near end of the final portal season. By hook and crook, said team gets an insane replacement last minute in the portal.
No complaints about the teams ahead of us, except maybe Rutgers and Maryland. Middle of the pack talent with great coaching and development can produce upper tier results.Big Ten football class of 2025 team recruiting rankings
Would have hoped for better than #12, but know that Coach B and team are making progress and 2026 is looking to be a good step higher.
Back in the 60's Quincy Jr. High was 7th, 8th and 9th grades, is it still that way? That's much smaller than when I graduated there in the '70's. My class alone was 615. Speaking of west central IL, it's been a long time since we've seen a recruit out of that area. Jack Cornell was the last I recall, and he's coach at Quincy Notre Dame now. Is he developing some talent for us yet?
