Kind’ve nasty right? Like what if a player was pursuing a degree at Illinois and is being told his scholarship is being revoked because he is not on the first or second team.

Who are they? And what terms of the contract do you want them to enforce?

Can a 48 year old Alumni be water boy🤔, I have worked in restaurants in my 20s as server/ bartender, and feel I could multi task as the bag man as well!!!.... Plus I would consider position of paid goon!!!

Is the skill required for a 7 yard snap accurately equal to or greater than the skill required to kick a ball 40+ yards accurately? 🧐
Long snapper is sort of like a person's back and neck. You never know how important it is until it's messed up. Then you find yourself catatonic for three days in severe agony wondering what the hell is happening and pondering your life choices

This past season, snapping was uuuuuuuuugly. Credit to the holders and Luke as both Hansen and Kreutz had issues snapping the ball above the shoelaces all season.

Possibly. Ive played center for 3 decades and cant long snap for my life.

Also, I played 3 years of D3. I should have eligibility.....think they would be willing to take a 38 year old 6'2" 310lb Center for 75k?

I have recent game film against random garbage men, forklift drivers, and security guards from all around the Midwest lol
Yeah I think this is what I point to. 7-yard snapper* required.
*also must be 300+ lbs and built

maybe we should pay $2,500 for every good snap and deduct $10,000 for every bad one?
As his agent I'm going to insist on this being 5k per 'bad' snap, which I demand has to be validated by a 3rd party.

90k for a long snapper is great. Says me, his agent.

This is why getting excited about early prep commitments is useless. The Utah coach goes to MI.....of course he's receptive. With all due respect to the beloved, for most kids that's going to be the more attractive option, especially if the money is there.

Commitments that early are nothing more than a confirmed reservation at a nice restaurant. It's really easy to find another restaurant and cancel the reservation. No penalties.

no doubt
it’s just a bit harder for the fans .

since inception of NIL , it’s benefited schools like ours & Indiana, mainly because we were both at big disadvantages prior to it

what happens going forward is anyone’s guess . I just don’t think it’s sustainable for CFB in general .

how much does the water boy get ?
we cant have the team getting sick every week if the Gatorade jug isn't sanitized properly
Huh? this is a real life paid for performance situation. if you are good, you get $.
the water boy gets a full or part time graduate assistants job, walks away with a
degree and no huge student loan. this is good for everybody. does it need controls,
of course. those who donate out NIL money need protected for sure.

Getting X back would be huge - I think it makes a ton of sense for him to come back if he's not going to be 100% for the combine and pre-draft process and right now he's projected as a 5th rounder. If he comes back and is first team all big ten and plays like he's capable, he will improve his draft stock and get paid a lot more cash than he will on someone's practice squad in the NFL

Tomiwa back would be great as well given he brings some interior pass rush to the DL
5th round NFL pick gets 4 year $4M contract - not guaranteed.
2nd round NFL pick gets 4 year contract $6M-$10M - not guaranteed including $1M signing bonus

Guarantees can be negotiated but typically only for 1st rounders and early 2nd rounders.

If Xavier could get paid $1M (?) by Illini and have chance to move up in draft to 2nd round the numbers work to return to Illinois. At least you got the $1M.

Worst case scenario is go to NFL draft don't get drafted in 7 rounds, sign as free agent and get cut. Taxi squad is $234k.

One of my good friends Illinois, his freshman son was on the football extended student staff and basically one of his tasks was to get the players water. I can assure you he didn’t get any NIL cash but he did receive amount of Illinois gear, including at least one pair of shoes.
