Is 11 receptions at Ball St "BOOM"-worthy?

That Colorado State team from Arkin’s years would have put this Colorado State team in a locker.

PFF scores are bad, his snap count says he was a backup. His team went 2-10. He’s not an underclassmen. If someone can connect the dots on all of those negative factors on a good player comp, I’m all ears.
What I imagine the insiders are doing when you question someone the coaches are recruiting:

Just posting for a laugh. I honestly trust Bret and co's talent evals better than what I can find on PFF or anywhere else. It's tough to gauge someone at times when they're on a truly awful team.

Is there any worry that the new ruling in the recruiting situations in Men’s Basketball could affect College Football soon? I’m specifically thinking of the Baylor center’s situation.

Where a college football player declares for the draft, goes undrafted and then returns to college football the following year?

It feels as if we are getting close to that.
Any insider information there?

Haha, yes! I’m just a random online poster. The staff has forgotten more information about football than I’ll ever learn. This is also a message board and I’m just sharing my two cents.

He is a lottery ticket. Probably getting little or no $NIL. Just wants a shot for a good SR season on a P4 team. Training table, charter flights, nice hotels.

Good size 6'4" 4.5 40 so reasonably fast

Colin is 6'1", Hudson is 6'1", Jayshon (FAU) is 6'1". Nice to have somebody tall to run fade route in end zone.

I hated to see Justin leave. 22 receptions 265 yards and 5 TD. Filled very nice role for us. Big physical WR who was not scared to run routes in middle of field and clutch in red zone.

Funny Jayshon does not have a recorded 40 time but shows 100 meter 10.91 sec. Hudson shows 4.5 40 so does Colin. I wonder if these websites just assumes all wide receivers can run a 4.5.

Pat Bryant ran a 4.6 at the combine which was slowest for all WRs at combine. Season stats - 41 receptions for 378 yards and 1 TD. Not bad for a 3rd round pick who barely played first 5 games of season but was averaging almost 5 targets and 3 catches per game for last 9 games of season.

ESPN: OK, maybe the SEC isn't actually the dominant conference we advertised it as all season...

Article contains quotes from one Bret Bielema.
Coach finally getting some respect and recognition from the MSM boys... About time ! ! !

Excuse the crappy field. My 8man team in Decatur was pretty low budget but had some real talent with almost half the team having D1 experience ( high for 8man semi pro)
We also went down to Orlando and won the national championship that year.

Anyway the blitzing LB was a 6'7" 260lb former Virginia player who was a TE on the 49ers practice squad. Im guessing he was a better TE than LB.

But yeah, I still have eligibility, I would be more than happy to be a 4th string center or guard for 50k.
Dude, you really need an agent! You’ve already dropped your asking price from 75k to 50k without even getting a counter on the 75!!!

Did we just get Bowick back at a discount? I'm very whelmed.
Seems to me like more of a Ashton Hollins replacement. He had 293 yards in his entire time at Ball State. Bowick had 265 this past season for Illinois.

With the amount of talent we’ve assembled, can’t see him being a top 4 guy in the rotation.

IMO the WR room is the most set position on this team, followed by quarterback.

I would tend to agree, but I was pretty happy with the wide receiver room as is after adding Platt so I guess this is more for depth anyway. Maybe cheaper than Bowick?

I’m not sure what you think NIL agreements have the power do? NIL agreements do not and cannot prevent a student athlete from transferring. It may void the agreement. But it’s not prevented.
That’s exactly my point. If have no knowledge of NIL contracts, but it’s a crappy contract if someone can sign it and say “ah forget it - changed my mind”.

I led contract negotiations at a greedy fortune 100 that liked to be a bully, and contracts worked the way it wanted them to. Enough lawyers and enough desire to go after people and you can have a lot of control or make it very painful for someone that does not want to comply.

Sure, you can’t be stopped from transferring, but you could still be on the hook or face litigation. Would players want the hassle of being sued? I would think not.

Universities have money and lawyers to force the rules and/or play hard ball if they choose. Maybe it’s not a big enough issue yet for them to go that path.
