It would make sense. I like Bellamy about the most of any assistants. I have no feeling one way or the other on Nate. I am not going to let past Illinois ties make me feel one way or another about hires. I am underwhelmed so far. But OC and DC would be the names. If they are Nicherson and Garrick I would be happy. I still hope we have a top notch recruiter. But maybe Garrick and Hayes- Stoker are great recruiters. I am not sure about that.

Now we're getting picky about the success our soon to be new OC and DC's had in the NFL? Come on guys. Disregard the wins/losses of the possible new coaches and look at the big picture. LS is getting long time coaches (some young, some older) that have had success as players and coaches in the NFL who also have enormous respect at home in some of the best recruiting areas in the country.

I am not totally sure how these things work on game day, but would Lovie be calling the defensive plays?
I have seen many offensive minded head coaches call the plays on Saturdays, but I cannot seem to recall a defensive minded coach calling the plays. Have I missed it, or in general do they do the prep during the week and let the DC call the actual defensive plays/adjustments on game day?

Did he or Rivera call defensive plays in Chicago? I know he called offensive plays for a season in Chicago, though. I don't believe he'll do either in Illinois.
