Illinois Golf 2022-23

Guilty as charged. However, 27 holes like this at regionals or NCAA’s and it’s likely over. If this event had a field similar to their last two events they would be looking up at a lot of teams.

As far as their depth, it looks like Jerry Ji isn’t going to help so it really just these 5. Hope Jerry turns it around but he’s really struggled.
Depth in golf is having a strong top 5, meaning anybody can score any round, Illinois definitely is deep in that sense.

And Jerry and Nico actually are not bad backup options to be honest. This team is stacked right now. Putting it in perspective AdC has the lowest scoring average in the history of the program and we’ve had some great golfers

Marquette is right in this also, gonna be very tight down the stretch

we appear to up two heading into the back 9, need some solid play. Maybe AdC's time to show his pedigree.

Oops didn’t refresh the web page. Guess Illini did win. I can attest to fact weather today was pretty brutal — cold and windy — at least in Columbus. And Dayton is just over an hour straight west from here, so I’m assuming similar weather there.

Not a great start in Florida...+5 halfway through the second 9 and 15 strokes off the lead

Yeah auburn is smashing this event so far, today is moving day. Lots of ground to make up. Buchanan is really have a rough go so far.

The second I made that post Buchanan made back to back birdies. Which is key we need that 4th score not to be a +4, make it around -/+1 and we will make up a lot of ground. AdC needs another subpar round

Definitely playing for third which is within reach. Good day yesterday for sure. Teams needs somebody to go low. Getting a lot of consistent good play but somebody needs to go red hot and shoot in the mid-60s. Coming in third to Florida and Auburn wont have much of an effect on our top 10 ranking, but don't want to fall too far below that. Besides Purdue could gain a little confidence for the BIG 10 champ and we don't want that.

well this is an outstanding day for the team, Buchanan was that low round we have been missing. Far and away the low round on the day and have taking over 3rd in the tourney.

Assuming they close the day where they are, a great way to finish and salvage things.

PGA Tour is in Bermuda this week with a 2nd tier field of players. Just went to pgatour.com and looked at the Power Rankings which has 1. Nick Hardy and 2. Thomas Detry. Might not translate to results but was cool to see that.

2 wins, a second and third is a very strong fall season. Unbalanced schedule this year and some seriously strong events early in the spring.

With the addition of Basard what a strong lineup we can roll out. Team has depth and high end talent.

There will be one player transferring (not a major contributor at this time and he probably won't be here). Wish him all the best and hope he succeeds at his next stop. This team had a major issue this tournament with par 4s and 5s especially Adrien on par 5s not par 4s. He needs to figure those out. Purdue dominated hole 7 all tourney and went like -13 over 3 rounds. We went +1 on that hole. On the bright side we were by far the best par 3 team of any. https://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=stats&tid=26009 this should link to cool advances stats by golf stat. We shot -7 on par 3s. Next best team. Florida +8. Lsu and Auburn +10. par 4s we shot +22. Auburn shot -7, Florida was +6 North Florida +7. Par 5s we were -9 and auburn was -17 for 1st. Purdue -16.
