It's still early, but we're lookin' like a #1 team.also I've been saying this all year but Illinois and Florida are the 2 deepest teams this year. I think a couple others may have slightly higher ceilings but depth wise these are the best. currently 1 and 2.
Illinois currently has a 14 stroke lead over the ninth place team, so they have an excellent chance to make the final 8 for match play. Of course, once match play starts anything can happen. It's still early, but we're lookin' like a #1 team.
Yep just gotta get to match play. If we play back to back rounds of 4-6 over I think we’re ok. But realistically I want to see close to even both roundsIllinois currently has a 14 stroke lead over the ninth place team, so they have an excellent chance to make the final 8 for match play. You know, I had an early morning and long day today. Loyalty brought me back to your comment, I guess it was where I left off. I didn't notice the timestamp, and it sounded like we somehow made up no ground despite aggressively feeling out the course yesterday. Disappointing, but I check the scoreboard and what do I see?Kind of a bad news/good news day. Six double bogeys. ADdC came through with his regular strong round, but no one really burned up the course, yet they haven't really given up anything. Will end up around T9, one stroke off the Top 8 and with no team out of reach.
Yup. No matter how deep or steady or incredible a team is in this play, it won't win anything. The doubles were disappointing yesterday, but the Illinois had one of the most dynamic cards among the good teams. Vandy might look like the tortoise to our hare, but I trust in Mike Small.Yep just gotta get to match play. If we play back to back rounds of 4-6 over I think we’re ok. The higher we finish in stroke play, the better our seed for match play. Why not just finish first and be the #1 seed?Yep just gotta get to match play. If we play back to back rounds of 4-6 over I think we’re ok. But realistically I want to see close to even both rounds
At the end of the day all 8 teams in match play will be good and tough. It’s a shitshow and it all depends on who gets hot. You don’t really get an advantage if you’re the 1 seed or the 8. But yea overall you want to be a top seed for sure. The higher we finish in stroke play, the better our seed for match play. Why not just finish first and be the #1 seed?
In general I agree with this, but Vandy is kinda a different beast, I would like to avoid them. Also a team I could see stabilizing and sneaking in at 8 that I would not want to face in the first match play is Stanford. At the end of the day all 8 teams in match play will be good and tough. Yea it’s good to avoid teams but it’s impossible to know where these teams will be in match play. Indeed. I wouldn’t be heartbroken if Vandy was the 9th seed. Don’t see that happening though.Yea it’s good to avoid teams but it’s impossible to know where these teams will be in match play. Vandy could be the 8 seed
Nice picture of the 18th green.
