Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread

Ayo hits free throws down the stretch and Fire wins 66-57.

Nice ! Again, all these updates are Greatly appreciated.

For all those who had doubts, I don't think we could ask for better in-state optics now after hiring Chin then immediately offering Chicago's top talent as soon as the evaluation period started.

BU seems quite strategic and deliberate in most of his moves so far. Excited to see how all it all translates on the court !

Ayo 25 pts, THT only played 18 minutes due to foul trouble and fouling out but had 12 pts, 6 rbs, 2 stl, and a block ( and 4 TO's, all on charges). Bagley 26/20. If he hadn't played on the perimeter the first 10 minutes, might have been a different outcome. http://www.d1circuit.com/game/show/17610076

Agreed. Hate to keep touting the Chin hire but if you want to be a player in Chicago HS/AAU recruiting, you would be hard-pressed to find a more connected and respected surrogate than Chin. There might be better polished and experienced recruiters overall but not with the extensive ties to Chicago. :shield:

Great game! Brooks hit a one handed, 30 foot 3 to tie Speice with PSA Cardinals with 3 seconds left, PSA inbounded, the guard took the ball all the way down and got blasted by a Speice player and flung the ball up as he was going down -- nothing but net. PSA wins 59-57. The girl by camera 3, who's been a blast the whole morning, was properly appreciative of both plays. Tyger and Brooks both had good games again. But rough weekend for Indy, got blown out in yesterday's first game, lost in 3 OT's last night and lost on a circus shot today.

Great job by our @TheMacIrvinFire guys to finish 2-2. A lot to work on. Don't ever want to play against @MB3FIVE again. Lol!

Bagley, Porter and Reddish (and Ayo) were probably the best players I saw this weekend, although I watched mainly just the 4 Fire and MS games and their opponents.

MIF 16U off to a good start against Payton Elite (LA). Brayboy and Whitney both have a couple of buckets and blocks. Fire ahead 12-10 midway through the first half.

ps- Meanstreets finished the weekend 4-0 and are the only unbeaten team in Division A, also the Fire's Division.

Whitney very smooth and athletic, Brayboy still not entirely comfortable in his body -- I suspect he must have spurted to 6-9 his freshman year, which was his first year playing - but he alters a lot of shots and blocks his share. Whitney has 8 or 9 points, Brayboy 7. Miller and Jacobs have both missed several 3's. Fire up 32-23 at the half.

I'm seeing these Malik Hall stat lines and they are less than impressive. I haven't watched much video on him but I know we're pursuing him and he has an offer. Am I missing something not in the stat line?

Finke had another strong game today 18pt 9 reb , kid has been balling. Seems like he may be an elite floor spacer on the next level who can do more than just shoot. Whould thrive playing along side players like Ayo and Smith.

He plays on the same front line with Jontay Porter and Carte'Are Gordon.

Also, BU recruits for fit in his offense not on ratings or big stats. As another poster noted, NW, Wisconsin and others are in on Hall.

I don't even know who these second stringers are on the Fire 16U but they are pounding the LA team. Up by 22 with about 5 minutes to go.

I like that we're offering players of De Sousa's talent, but it's going to be tough getting players of his caliber to come here until players like TF and Mark Smith lead us to some sustained success
