Things are being kept pretty tightly under wraps. I'm probing an acquaintance regarding Smith, but there isn't much coming out. I'm more curious about Kiir or any other bigs than Smith at the moment, tbh. It's the bigger (lol) need by far.
If indeed Chuck Martin is the final addition to this staff, he was lead recruiter for Indiana on 3 very interesting prospects.
Tremont Waters #37 (Former Georgetown Commit)
Jordan Tucker #54 (Uncommitted)
Clifton Moore #141 (Former Indiana Commit)
I would take any of the 3.
Is this staff going to be much more covert in letting info out than the last one was?
From this morning.Tucker is 6'8 and Moore is a 6'10 power forward. Both would be godsends given our current vertically challenged situation.
Yes. Despite the relative silence, we should have every reason to believe that our staff is very active right now. :thumb:

Does anyone think we have a chance with any of these three?

Fairly surprised no update on Smith's MSU visit and no update on Tilmon being let out of his LOI today.
I don't think IL would make a public statement about releasing Tilmon, but I could be wrong.
Maybe not, but you can bet once it happens it wont take long to hit the St. Louis media.
Tigerboard is a bit restive about Tilmon's LOI release. Some chatter there that some of this has to do with mom dragging her feet on paperwork. Totally aside from the basketball aspect of this, it's heartbreaking to see what appears to be a genuinely tough family situation. =/

So now Tilmon may not want out of LOI. I really wish him and his family the best. I would love it if he stayed with UI, but man this is a volatile situation. I still say character matters, but then again so does skill.
I believe the Cheshire Cat put it best: It does not matter which way you go if you don't know where you are going.
If I were Coach Underwood, I would absolutely release a statement.
"We respect Jeremiah and his decision during this transition at Illinois. He is a great young man, talented player, and an asset to his future program. We will continue to work with him and his family during this process and wish him success, at Illinois or any other school that he may choose."
Etc. Etc. Save face, take the high road, etc. It would really redirect any negative light away from UI - and we could officially move on, with our without him.
Moore is flat out a project.
No specific sanctioning body though it largely follows BOA scoring and expectations. It is the Illinois state championships, or as some call it, the "Has Marian completed enough of their show to win or not?" competition. Competitive marching band in Illinois is Marian Catholic and then everybody else.
He want's out, but mom is the one that has always been the IL booster.
I understand the situation. This back and forth is bad. Too many people pulling on the strings only gets them tangled. :frustrated:
The mom's always liked John Groce But we know how that has worked out.
No I know, I'm not kidding. I like Hardy a lot, he clearly has a desire to play for Underwood (and against Michigan and MSU) and he's busy looking elsewhere while we're Lloyd Dobler-ing with Smith. I would like to not Groce-ify this situation, please.
