Very happy about the THT offer. I've only seen the highlights, but I love his game and motor.

I get the Sergio and Dennis Douglas comparisons in terms of body type, but THT looks to be more skilled. Reminds me a bit of Alando Tucker.
The only question I have with him is his foot speed. He is a big dude

Already feel better about their evaluation of players.

This statement is crazy. If groce was good at one thing it was player eval. He wasn't able to lock them down but he often got in on good players early only to watch them shoot up the rankings. Groce was absolutely good at player eval, just did a poor job at landing them.

It's also crazy Bc we have literally seen BU offer like 10 players, none of which have even seen the court for us yet. It is way too early to know if they will work out yet or not.

For those who've seen Ayo play, how is he when he goes left? The highlight tapes depict him as exceedingly right hand dominant. When he goes left it's only for like a dribble, and then shoots a right handed shot. Anybody with deeper knowledge of his game that can give me some perspective?

I was wondering the same thing about THT. I didn't see him use his left hand to finish in any of the highlights I watched.

G. Loyalty, for lack of a better word.... if he's grown up Orange and Blue, if he can sing the Illinois Alma Mater, if he can say "Oskee-wow-wow" without being embarrassed, if he knows what to say if someone says I-L-L-, if he's been to the Cracker Barrel in Edwardsville and walked past the Illini display just inside the front door, if he's ever been to the Assembly Hall and cheered for the Fighting Illini, if he's ever seen Chief Illiniwek dance (wait, scratch that), if he's ever felt part of the Illini Nation, be true to your school.

That describes us, not necessarily a high school kid.

Agree with this. Groce obviously had his faults but evaluating recruits was certainly not one of them.

Used all scholarships thru 18 plus one.

Hope my sarcasm meter is broken.

You need to offer at least 3 for each target open. If you get every one you offer, you're not offering the right guys.

Or maybe more a high school kid instead of us. Did you always make logical choices when you were 18? Really?

It could be someone is trying to make him "think logically" and go to MSU, and Mark is saying, "But Illinois..."

Want some Koolaid? I've got barrels of it. :D

Didn't include all offers.

Halftime:
Meanstreets 54, Playaz 42 - Finke looks like he did last night. Much more active and has hit a number of 3's.

Howard Pulley 44, MIF 34 - HP loaded as last year with Tre Jones and a front line of 6-10, 6-9, 6-8. Daniel Otoro (6-10) is committed to MN and he's a load.

HP could not miss, shot 33 of 45 from the field. 11 of 19 from 3 and their bigs just ate it up inside. Beat MIF 88-67.
Ayo 26 pts, 4 ast; THT sat much of the first half with foul trouble, ended up with 5 pts 5 assists, only took 6 shots. http://www.d1circuit.com/game/show/17609917

Thanks Mike! I appreciate all the high school and AAU updates
:thumb: No problem. Waiting for the Meanstreet stats. They won 94-85 over Playaz (NJ) and Finke had the best game I've seen him have. I don't see him near as much as I see the Chicago area guys but he led MS from a 6 point deficit to a win over the last 5 or 6 minutes.
I'm retired so I can go out and about whenever and high school and college basketball is the only sport I follow so AAU ball is great for me even if it does mean I'm glued to the computer all weekend. I always like to see how the kids we're recruiting are doing.
