Peoria native living in Iowa City, and I can confirm via multiple unbiased sources ... Trefzger's is legitimately the greatest bakery on Earth, and nobody I know has ever tried it and not fallen in love.

I will be your first to tell you I did not fall in love with it haha. Everyone I know loves it, I cant stand it. Their products are so dry they are crumbly, and tasteless.

Umm did you set them out in the open for 4 days? Trefzger's is anything but dry. I am pretty sure it is lard (plus a little sumpin else) that gives it the distinctively delicious taste so with all that fat dry shouldn't be the case. 40 lashes with a wet noodle for you, Big Fella!

It's amazing how this thread always turns to food when we're waiting on big decisions

I may have started a bakery war....My bad.

It is a plausible variation on the Big Announcement Day favorite restaurant discussion. Nothing here to talk about until 6:00 CST.

This. Loren has publicly said many times he's not a recruiting "insider" and tries to tell people he doesn't follow recruiting. So, if he's reporting it, word truly has "gotten out". Yes, things can change before 6pm, Izzo can call - he can have a change of heart, etc. but the fact that he cancelled is visits last weekend and how clogged MSU will be at PG makes a lot of sense for him to come here.

Obviously Huge get by BU and frankly Walker needed this too. I'm more more excited about our team next year because of this, although I'm still not sure who's going to get a rebound. Smith might literally have to pull a Westbrook for us to be competitive next year.
Black and Finke can both rebound, so let's not start this narrative again. Maverick was the poor rebounder, especially considering his size last year. Neither may be Dennis Rodman, but with Black, Finke and Kipper, I think we will be solid and surely there will be another big joining them. Coleman-Lands also rebounds fine for a shooting guard. The only rebounder we are really losing is Hill.

I'm going to Portillo's for lunch and I like their chocolate cakeshake.
The Portillo's Chocolate Cake-shake is one of the best inventions ever..

..and I hate you. No freaking Portillo's, Lou's or Giordano's in Peoria and I can't figure out why. Peoria is full of slothenly hog feeders who love them some good old food loaded with fat, carbs and flavor so sales would not be an issue.

How Illinois would it be for all of the smoke to be in favor of us and then Smith announces MSU. Then it would be an absolute blow.

That is too awesome. Mark Smith is an all time Illini great and he, EJ and Derrick Holcombe were my introduction to Illini basketball....I fell in love and have bled orange and blue ever since.

RIP Mark Smith.

IDK- It just seems weird to me that the story is completely non-sourced. He just makes these statements in the article with absolutely no backing. The "done deal" talk is based on word around Edwardsville?? And Tate just casually passes over the fact that Tilmon privately agreed to attend Missouri? Even unnamed sources would lend a bit more credibility to the article.

To make those statements, you would have to feel pretty confident that they are true. If you are that confident, you must have good sources. If you have good sources, then you should be able to at least generally cite them.
Tate is a columnist, which generally have different guidelines for stories than actual news stories. Like him or not, on thing about Tate is he isn't going to run with info that isn't solid, so I would say this is as good of positive news as this board has seen on this situation to date.
