Agree.Incorrect spelling and punctuation is way less annoying than the people pointing it out.A lot of times spellchecks the culprit anyway.

I don't know. Everyone has their own peeves. The one that really bothers me is when people write "would of". This happens very frequently on here.

By the way, "would've" is a contraction for "would have". The phrase "would of" does not make any sense whatsoever.

That is all.

According to this article:
http://www.thesportsbank.net/illinois-illini/mark-smith-a-huge-get-for-illini-basketball-but-who-will-play-up-front/

Badocchi has eliminated Wichita State from consideration. Not sure how this can be since I thought he was visiting this weekend. The article also says Smith was being courted by Northwestern which I also don't remember hearing. Maybe an offer was made but I don't think it was being seriously considered or that anyone thought Smith would go. But maybe I don't remember correctly. But I digress, the intent of this post was the Wichita State news.

At one point NW was a very serious player for Smith. If I recall, he didn't have a good visit and I didn't hear much about them after that.

Loyalty illiteracy would of course be improved if everyone heeded this advice.

Funny this came up. I ran into Brian James on a flight to ATL. He's assistant coach at NW. Asked him about Mark Smith commitment to Illinois. His reply, "I'm disappointed. I recruited him hard and personally visited him the maximum number of times (think he said 5)."

I pretty much got the gist he may have been lead recruiter on that one. So I felt like a jerk for bringing up the recruitment.

S and C: now that Henricksen has ranked smith above Tilmon, do you still maintain that smith is legitimately around 70 while Tilmon is around 40, or do you agree that Henricksen is better positioned than the national guys to know how good Smith is, and that if Tilmon is properly around 40, Smith ought to be in that neighborhood too?

So we appear to be in the final 2, 3 or 4 for Badocchi, Bragg and Tilmon. That's pretty good progress on all three over the past two weeks. The two freshman add an immediate BIG MAN presence.

Guess we'll hear from Badocchi first --- at some point next week.

I think we would me much better off if JT went to Mizzou and we landed Mayan Kiir. The JT situation has been drama filled and its just my gut feeling that something isn't on the level. Kiir can play the 5 in BU' s offense, he can get up and down the floor, rebound and block shots

Kiir committed to LSU.

If he's on scholarship it still has to count against the hoops numbers.

That was my reaction at first too.

but now that I think about it, as a coach's son he's probably a walk on. So it doesn't really matter. In fact, I found his note - he confirms he's not on an athletic scholarship.

So it is no big deal scholarship wise.

Like him also but committed to LSU.

and that is your right, just like its my right to spell bad, use bad grammar, and think the grammar police really have nothing better to do with their day then look to try to make someone look bad, So they can feel better about themselves for being an English major

I don't get this embracing of incompetence. Plus, no one on a sports message board has the right to criticize how someone else spends their time...on a message board.

Most importantly, can we get the hell back on topic?

Ok we talk about making bets on here all the time. I am so sure on JT that I am willing to bet 1 year of not posting on here

If he doesn't sign and join the illini I will not post from the day he signs else where for 1 year. Any of you no way JT is an Illini willing to do the same when he does ?

Grammar is a tool, some people use it every day some do not. Like any other tool, the more or less you use it the better or worse you are at it. It has nothing to do with how smart you are

While we probably don't need to correct every infraction on here (that would take a lot of time) it shouldn't be causing an issue to help others with some of the glaring gaffs. If no one cares, we start down that slippery slope that leads to a 'dumbed down' America.

Well, in the spirit of not correcting every infraction we'll let the gaffe on "gaffs" slide. :) BTW, I agree with your point.
