One of the most fun - but disappointing games I've ever attended. I had a BLAST in the crowd yelling many things not suited for TV, hoping to get picked up on the TV audio. I was at the FF in 2005 - this game was more of an electric atmosphere, IMO (maybe since it was a more intimate setting as a home game vs. a football stadium)

Go Illini :chief:

I was in the second row of the Orange Krush (when we were still on the floor behind the basket). Although I was "top tier" Krush, I didn't go to many games that year, but made sure to attend that one. Lots of aggressive boo-ing and a very raucous atmosphere. Reminds me of the days when the fanbase was passionate and we expected victory.

The crowd’s booing of Sampson as he had to walk cross court to the locker room at halftime was the loudest I’ve ever heard at any sporting event. In his dorky candy striped pants no less.

Man, I loved dishing it back to my Hoosier relatives when he inevitably got busted.

Matic transfers, Okoro commits and reclassifies, Ramey commits, Sweet 16 Bound, a man can dream right?

Pretty sure Larry Bird wasn't a soccer player, he was however an exceptional baseball player and played in some Co Ed softball leagues during his time at ISU.

You are correct...Larry Bird was not a soccer player....but he was a pretty fair baseball player...good arm ...but struggled making contact at times

Not many great hitters that tall. Lots of great pitchers though. Hands have to travel to far at that height to be a consistent contact hitter.

And Deron Williams comes back for his 4th year as player/asst coach.

After careful consideration of all rules that would be broken with a move of this sort. I say lets get him back in town!

Sounds like Bryce Golden and his mother had a good Syracuse visit according to her Twitter.

Interesting that he did not sign while there. Curiously wonder if he is still considering options or just making a larger announcement?

I know some disregard Roy Schmidt, but he was the one to first publicly say that Mark Smith is transferring so I think he has good info. Well, he just posted on Twitter that if Okoro gets a test score needed, he is a lock to reclassify and be at Illinois next year.

Think he would help the team immensely. I think we can go big when we need to and have him at the 4 and Big E and Kane at the 5.

Bagley got his clearing rather quickly last year, but he submitted in August fwiw, not sure how fast he could have it done.

Glad we had the in home and we might have a chance, for Okoro still. Lidell might be a different matter, the blue bloods haven't started knocking yet, but they will. When they do I'm sure he will listen. The Smith transfer has had some effect irregardless of what EJ has said.

With Golden still a possibility we have several things to watch. All being said, glad to see we are actively pursuing Okoro, Whitney and Golden, we still need a big. Just a hunch, since Golden OV is 29th, we still considering him 1st, watching the Okoro thing play out, Whitney and EJ are 19' recruits, so keeping tabs on them is most we can do.

Matic still with program and doesn't look to be going anywhere, so still have 1scollie to deal. Will it be Golden, or will we take a chance and see if Okoro will come available? Can't see us slow playing Golden if he wants in. BU has already showed that he is a man of action, and has the stones to make tough choices.

Ebo will be our starting 5 next year, just a matter of who will back him up, and for how long. We are in the waiting room till Golden makes his visit, or Okoro reclassification and commit are made. Grab a chair gang.:popcorn:;):illinois:

Is this for real?

That would be fantastic if it happens. He has decent sources, mostly his attitude that turns people off.

If Okoro commits would anyone argue that this could be the greatest recruiting class ever?

It would have to be the biggest at least, wouldn’t it?

How long do act scores take to come back these days?

I was thinking about this earlier today, what is our biggest class ever? Anyone know?

Keep in mind that Okoro's ranking will go down if he reclassifies as he would then be compared to older, more developed players. Blake Hinson went from the 80's to the 150's for example.

It wouldn't even be close to our greatest recruiting class ever. Quantity =/= quality.

It would be a very good class though, with long-term building blocks at multiple positions.

Per their website, "multiple choice scores" will be released on April 24 and "complete scores" will be released on May 8th. No idea what that means, but it sounds like May 8 is the day that matters.

I like Okoro's chances of getting the score he needs given that he's got a head the size of a minifridge ;)
