Per their website, "multiple choice scores" will be released on April 24 and "complete scores" will be released on May 8th. No idea what that means, but it sounds like May 8 is the day that matters.

I like Okoro's chances of getting the score he needs given that he's got a head the size of a minifridge ;)

If he took the optional written essay portion it’s May 8. Don’t believe that is a requirement for U of Illinois unless there has been a recent change.

If Okoro wants to commit I don’t care if the messenger is gross uncle bob delivering this news straight from the nudist colony. Bring it on!

Hey! I haven’t been to the nudist colony for years!!
This is just great. Not sure which is better, that someone created a user account that quick in order to respond, or that UncleBob happened to be reading just then and could respond that quick. Impressive either way.

I thought I heard he took the ACT? Anyway, does anyone know if Okoro was strong in the academic department at Normal West?

May he sign a letter of intent without the reclassification being accepted? If we feel he will pass the tests than we know we have to save the opening rather than waiting for the scores and then he goes elsewhere.

Has he already taken the test or will he take it on May 5th. I’m confused.
Is he taking the ACT or the SAT?

Reclassifying is a messy process but I'm sure his school is willing work with him. It's not like he just decides that he wants to graduate a year early. If he was expecting to return for another year then he must be missing some graduation requirements. Maybe Normal is letting him take some credit recovery courses but those usually take a few weeks to complete but he'd need to be careful to do well if he's concerned about getting a certain score on the ACT/SAT.

It was previously surmised he took the SAT yesterday 4/14... is there new information which casts doubt on that?

Well if he truly took an official visit to Oregon the other weekend, he had to have taken either the ACT or SAT previously in order to be eligible to take an official visit is my understanding.

I believe that the SAT was given to Juniors in school during the week as part of the Illinois state testing requirement. Saturday, I believe, was one of the scheduled administrations of the ACT. To take the Saturday test, a student would have had to have been registered in advance - so this was either planned or they somehow got him in at the last minute through an exception.

It was originally reported that he was taking the ACT yesterday. I have no idea if that is accurate, but the SAT talk is confusing a lot of people. I have never seen it reported that he was scheduled to take the SAT.

I’ve been a member for several years. Read daily but seldom post. 😳

All Juniors are required to take the SAT in the Spring as Illinois' state testing - a progress monitor of sorts that replaced the old Prairie State exam including the ACT. I believe the window for administering the state test was this past week. I know this because my office is within the testing department at my school.

Thanks for the info. So the SAT is mandatory, but the ACT is optional then?

This is his normal time to take the ACT/SAT anyway... almost everyone takes it in the spring of their junior year if they have college aspirations so it isn't like those summer school classes would affect him on the standardized tests.

It's the normal time, actually it's required, to take the SAT if he's classified as a junior, that's correct. That means he's short on credits even after this semester which is my main point. It could be that he has no concerns about grades, and just needs to take the test. It's surprising that he didn't just take an earlier test if he had any possibility whatsoever to reclassify since schools and NCAA just take the highest score. It's possible that he's already taken the test though and all the chatter is about a retest.. or we could be completely wrong about him even taking the test.

Different argument but, until we win the National championship the class with Dee Brown, Deron Williams, and James Augustine is my best class ever. Obviously they didn’t get there by themselves but, they were the biggest part of the 04-05 team.

Illinois replaced ACT with SAT last year.

"Right now, that's what I am," he said. "I'm still a junior, that's what I am. I haven't taken the SAT yet."

First, different people will have different ideas about this. Marcus Liberty was pretty much the only guy in that class and some would make that a top 10 class by virtue of him alone.

Bruce Douglas and Efrem were McDAA. Add in Meents and Altenberger.

Richmond and Leonard.

Nick Anderson came in with the highly regarded Larry Smith. Gill was an after thought that makes us think more highly of that class, but he wasn't a major factor in ranking it high.

Richardson and Paul was a great class but not necessarily higher than this one with Okoro.

I'm already thrilled with this class. Good place to be for Underwood's first full year of recruiting.

Alexander, Snider, Black, and Finke was our best class ever. Brought us a national championship and is the reason why we’ve made back to back Final 4s :/

Nonsense, we would love to have Okoro, just that Okoro, Liddell, Miller etc. were never guaranteed as this board made people believe.

Yeah, I never saw any of them happening.
Liddell to a blue blood
Okoro possibly to a blueblood but more likely to a school like MSU (although Oregon or Purdue would fit)
Miller to a blue blood (unless the Irvin connection is stronger than I think)
