A very nice game for Ramey. Try not to get seasick (shaky-cam alert)

So how well have the top JUCO recruits made the transition to high major basketball in past years (specifically PG's)?

I just have a hard time thinking the staff would take a Feliz commitment if Ramey is still on the fence. If you slow play Feliz and miss out, oh well we still have Frazier and Ayo. Plus Damonte can play emergency PG in a pinch.

Pierre Jackson? Carl Landry?

I think Landry was a one and done Juco Guy. Put up some solid numbers.

Sounds like Duke has four of their current players declaring for the draft & of course tripper was Senior.

& B Hinson is taking a OV at Ole Miss on Friday & their new coach has been pushing hard to get him. Know his OV at IL is at the end of the month. Will we still have an open spot?

Will we have room is a question that will be answered way before hinson shows up. Really think this weekend will shape the rest of the team. Ramey seems to be undecided, and we all like to see him commit, but a good point guard is hard to pass on. If Ramey doesn't commit, think Feliz should be allowed.

Ramey is a great player, but we need to fill slots, waiting for him might cost us alot. So surprised way all the dominoes are falling ATM. And still, what about Matic? Will he get creaned if all these guys get signed, doesn't look like he is in hurry to leave. Could be a interesting weekend, starting tomorrow.:popcorn:;)

Jones what I have seen on tape looks like the real deal. There is not a lot of tape out there on Ramey that I have seen. Those that have seen him, how would you say he compares to Coleman-Lands?

Google Courtney Ramey. There is twice as much tape of him than Jones. Doesn't really compare at all to JCL. He's the complete package at PG. Shoot, pass, drive, you name it.

I was talking about Groce missing plan A guys and not having a good backup plan. Which is partly why BU is left picking up all the pieces.

Trying to manage recruiting time and resources is an art form. Knowing who to go after, when to back out, and how to slow play without slow playing is pretty important. From an outsider's perspective this seems like the perfect time to swing for the fences and risk striking out. Groce did that and struck out a couple times when he couldn't afford to.

But who knows, maybe the staff is really in love with Feliz and he's the perfect fit alongside Ayo and Frazier for the three-headed monster we've been dreaming of since 2005.

Ok - makes more sense now.

Groce's inexperience really showed in the ability to hedge his bets... or perhaps loyalty to assistants. Either way, seemed like a good guy.

Watching the tourney the past two years was a constant reminder that he identified the right talent (maybe earlier than most from what we've read), but couldn't seal the deal.

C.J. Jackson/tOSU PG made a pretty good transition from JUCO to HM. Freddie McSwain, albeit not a PG, was a good JUCO transition. Both B1G examples.

That is the kind of thinking that has gotten us where we are, left holding the bag. From the timing, it looks like Antigua knows Feliz and likes him. Underwood will lay it out for Ramey, they want him badly, but cannot wait. If he does not commit tomorrow, they will accept Feliz. Ramey and his dad are worried about Courtney having the ball, at the end of games. They saw what Trent Frazier did last year and Ayo likes the ball also. So if BU cannot convince Courtney and his dad that he will be the man, he will be gone. The number 1 PG in Junior College isn't a bad backup plan.:thumb:

Spot on, IMO. Ramey is the truth. If we get lucky, look out!

BTW, Okoro is taking an OV to Oregon this weekend. Guess the reclassification is heating up again. If he turns 20 during the season (next season), he's ineligible. No info on his DOB.

One of the things i'd look at were i Ramey is young Porter is most likely gone after next year if not this one (late first round in one mock draft} and Tilmon possibly gone after next year. And if Liddell goes elsewhere do i want to be there.

I do not think the security of Giorgi and Kane being here in two years is the deciding factor here. :)

Marshall Henderson has to be one of more notorious JC transfers over last 5-10 years. Marqutte has had huge success with JC transfers (Jimmy Butler, Jae Crowder, Darius Johnson Odom)

Ramey could really fit in well here. He’s a pass first point guard. Frazier is great but he’s a scorer. Ayo is best when slashing to the rim. Ramey could be our missing piece. (Another big would obviously be nice too)

Fun fact: our assist leader last season was TeJon Lucas with 3.2 assists/game. Yikes.

Let’s get Ramey and run our opponents out of the gym!

I completely agree with this article and the reference to scum and Belein is very telling ...we weren't making it with the former roster and letting BU get his own players in and rebuilding the program from the ground up is the best way, IMHO///

Mr. Ramey, come on down and help us get back to the level prominence that we all want....

My ad blocker stops me from seeing this, but I agree that BU needs to get his own players and start the rebuild. I'm not expecting greatness next year, but I do expect a much better trajectory during the season so that we're seeing his system run by mid-season. We're going to be raw next year, but I'm resigned to it being a slower process than I'd hoped.

I never quite saw it with JCL. I chose to believe his lights-out shooting was why he was ranked so high and...oh well.

I thought Ramey’s comparison was poor man’s Russell Westbrook(not my words)

I don't really see that. He's not a freakazoid athlete like Russ, but he's also a for sure point guard, which Russ wasn't at that stage.

Ramey reminds me a bit of Jawun Evans, a comparison I'm sure Underwood will be making.

BU SFA teams were 9th, 4th, & 4th in the whole Nation with regards to total assists. Last year we were #184 in the country. Clearly, he's after assists. Ramey and Feliz fit the profile. Can't speak for Ramey, but Feliz' on the ball defense is very good.
