If he does commit, I might go on a 48 hour bender.

Per Andrew Force on Twitter:

2017 F Christian Negron (IL) says #UAB is very active in recruiting him. Iowa, Tulsa, TCU, Cincinnati, DePaul involved.

No mention of Illinois.

Seems like a back up plan for us at the moment, so not surprising.

Agree that he is backup plan, but I'm just having a hard time getting a feeling on these recruits. Maybe things become more clear during the July period, but it seemed like last summer we knew we were going to be in the top 3 or 5 for a few players. I still have no idea where we stand with Goodwin and Tilmon other than the nice things they say, for example.

I don't even know if it makes sense but Goodwin reminds me of a guard version of Jabari coming out of high school.

Jabari Parker? I could see that. Other than I think Goodwin goes at it much harder. But I think he might have everyone beat in that regard.

Eric Bossi agrees. He said during the state title game that he's the best competitor in the class of 17.

I like the Marcus Smart comp someone threw out earlier. How about Victor Oladipo? Maybe a slightly less athletic version but with better ball skills at the same stage.

I've always liked the shorter version of Draymond Green comparison. They're high motor guys, great rebounders, can effectively guard multiple positions, seek contact, great playmakers/assist guys, have similar body types, similar athleticism, aren't labelled by a position, etc. There are also little nuances like how both guys grab a defensive rebound and turn themselves into an offensive facilitator right away (you get to see this multiple times in the newest Goodwin video). And then there is the obvious "it" factor where both guys just always seem to win.

I also saw a bit of a leg kick on his jump shot.
