Have to agree. I've been allowing myself to hope he's been waiting to see if a scholarship opens up here.

How about this.. maybe it was more about Nunn and his future at Illinois more so than a scholarship opening. With Abrams case being a slam dunk, and Tate not being a threat for playing time, maybe he was waiting to see how things would shape up in the backcourt. We're open to playing two point guards, but at at the same time you have to be real and see how that affects the rest of the line-up. You're not going to have a line-up with two point guards when JCL and Nunn are both in the lineup (which is what has to happen with their talent level). The two point guard lineup does work with JCL at the 3 though, and Nunn gone. This probably isn't the reason but I think it's an okay theory.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

As long as we are making stuff up...How about Moore is already committed, just needed to officially remove Nunn before we made it public? It would make a great rumor.

So if this were true and comes to fruition, who's your primary ball handler with both Moore and Lucas on the floor? IMO Moore really didn't shine playing the 2 alongside Lovett the past couple years. He's clearly a much better player with the ball in his hands. Might be different alongside Lucas perhaps?

So if/when CN gets show the door, what flavor of CM would we rather have next year?

4 years of play at a position of need vs 4 years of scholarship and 3 years of play at a position of relative strength. Give me Moore.

I think it just depends on how good you think Moore will be. Will he beat out TJL and DaMonte for the PG spot since he realistically is not going to play the 2 for us as a primary position? If you think he can do that, then agreed Moore is the more important player. If you think that Matthews joining the team would be a starter as basically a 3rd year college player in 2017 to go along with JCL and whoever our best PG is then I think it is possible to make the argument for Matthews (esp since Goodwin and Lewis still have not committed and we are willing to add both of them).

I believe that Nunn and Tate could be gone opening up for both CM's. Knew from the get go Matthews was making a mistake. This is why some of the kids need to see that all the glitz and glamour of the blue bloods isn't always best for you.

Matthews is a very good player. But if T. Lewis is feeling us (and by many accounts he is), I'd rather have Lewis. Problem is, obviously, Lewis isn't ready to commit. Bird in the hand. Moot point if we don't have a ride.

Exactly, would love to have 2 of Goodwin, Lewis, and Matthews. I'll take whichever 2 want to come first if we are so lucky to get 2 of them.

To be fair, everyone also thought it was a mistake for Ulis and he will be a top 20 pick after two years.

Yup. I don't want to assume that Illinois was a finalist. But IF they were, might this suggest that CM was told that there weren't going to be any scholly's left?

I'd be surprised if Nunn was back, but if he was...

Glad that's over with. Time to move on from CM, again. Luckily we have a nice young PG coming in, who wants to be here.
