Maybe now we can call Bolden and tell him his offer is now committable & 2016 is done.
I'm shocked, shocked! :faint:
Not!
You get the feeling the only reason this one will end soon is because it has to end soon. As a result, nothing would be shocking when Moore finally does pull the trigger.

I'm totally blanking on this bolden you speak of
Yup. I don't want to assume that Illinois was a finalist. But IF they were, might this suggest that CM was told that there weren't going to be any scholly's left?
I'd be surprised if Nunn was back, but if he was...
The North Egypt Conference is missed by many, including yours truly. A hell of a good conference. When the old North Egypt Conference broke up, Mount Carmel, IL. joined the Big 8. Some of the Indiana teams are Vincennes, Princeton, Jasper, Mt. Vernon, IN. and Washington. Washington won multiple Indiana state basketball championships when the Zellers were in high school. As for Justin Carpenter, I would say that he is maybe a mid major prospect. I think I read that Evansville is looking at him.
No "I TOLD YOU SO" speech. Just trying to spread the word about downstate players that are making an impact that are grabbing attention. Carpenter is the latest so far and possibly the biggest since Tyra.
Like Stephen Bardo when he came out of Carbondale, I would love to see a 618 hoopster commit to Illinois. Hasn't happened in a long time.
Malcolm Hill
Just a thought...
I think Illinois presents a unique opportunity for Matthews to consider committing to the Illini and for one big reason: Malcolm Hill.
I know what you're thinking...why? It's simple. Malcolm Hill's natural position is the 3. This upcoming season is his last year in an Illini uniform (barring injuries or the apocalypse). Matthews can commit to Illinois, sit out during Hill's senior season, then have a lot of playing time by being small forward following Hill's graduation.
It's simple, something to consider, and yet a possibility for Matthews. Be closer to home, a chance for playing time to significantly increase, and have the likes of the legendary Dee helping in his development...it's a win-win and a no-brainer.
Also, Meyers Leonard

If he can do all those things consistently at Illinois then we have some fun times to look forward to, my friends.

To be fair, everyone also thought it was a mistake for Ulis and he will be a top 20 pick after two years.
He might be a top 20 pick. No one under 150lbs has ever been drafted. I'm not saying he won't be drafted, but it may not be that high. Also, Ulis was a MCDAA and CM was not.

Muggsy was 12th pick in 1987 draft. It might be the only example, but still the most obvious.
