Those guys have legit sources, but the sources themselves don't know for sure what the kid is going to pick when the kids themselves probably don't know at this time. You just have to take the info with a grain of salt and that goes for any recruiting info.

Agreed. These guys are keyed in and they have people they trust, but those people tend to be mostly from the Illinois side of things. Someone like Piper or Henrickson are better to listen to on the actual recruiting side of things because their sources tend to be from multiple angles and more thane just the illini side.

I agree they may have sources, but that term (especially when it comes to recruiting) seems to not mean anything anymore. If the 'source' isn't Tilmon himself, even if it's a person 'close to the program' or a 'coach on his AAU team' saying what they think a decision might be for now, 'source' becomes no more than what we get on this board... Speculation that ends up being accurate like 10% of the time.

At that point I don't think 'I'm hearing' or 'my sources tell me' means anything anymore.

Anyway, let's hope we land Moore and it helps us with Goodwin and Tilmon!!

I haven't seen enough of Moore to be overly impressed. He was Mr. BB in what many consider a down year and isn't considered top prospect in state. Will help Groce reputation with Chicago media short term. Would take a solid PG over open scholly. I think we need decrease reliance on rent a player.

:confused::confused::confused:

He's the top ranked player in the state for 2016. He has the skill and shooting ability to be a top level guard in the B1G. Nationally (i.e. not among Illinois fans) he's considered a better prospect than TJL. This is a no-brainer.

Am I the only on here that has completely giving up on getting Tilmon? Same old story we've seen a hundred times. If he doesn't want to be a part of this then let him go. Bring on Culver!

Culver was offered by Kansas yesterday...

Bring on the 5th year transfer in 2017!

Certainly understandable to be skeptical. The truth is that no "insider" really knows for sure (as usual), and trusting them is always foolish. Most of the time the kid doesn't even know. I think the best advice to Illini fans is to relax, let things play out, and don't get your hopes up too much.

Seems like a good educated guess, based on Pastner going there.

Probably have to take into consideration we don't even have a spot for him, currently.

I think Illinois is running a solid 4th for Moore. He seems like a Pastner, Cal or SMU type of guy.

Moore can only take 2 more visits since he already used 3. So if/when he sets visits that should be a strong indicator.

Did you follow JCL's recruitment?

You're advocating giving up on a Top 25 center from E St. Loo that we've been recruiting for years. And, oh yeah, we're at or near the top of his list. And you want to give up because he hasn't pulled the trigger yet? Christ on a cracker, man!

He might be the top ranked player in the state for 2016 but right now Moore is not the best player in the state by any means. I think that's what he was getting at.

Does Moore need to officially visit Illinois? Visit five other schools, then pick Illinois.

Nope, and honestly it would be kind of silly for him to visit Illinois officially if he is seriously considering the other options as well.

I think JCL was one of a kind deal. I'm not saying give up on recruriting him, but as for me I'm done holding my breath. Talk to me this fall and tell me I'm wrong. Hope you will.
