But we know that is why Steward chose Duke.I posted this in the post-game thread last night but figured it bears reposting here. Miller and Curbelo both committed to a team loaded with upperclassman at their positions and both just played 20+ meaningful minutes in Cameron. Competition should almost never be used an excuse why a recruit picks another school.
Couldn‘t agree more. He is going to generate a lot of bunnies for bigs and open looks for shooters. If I'm a big, I'd wanna play with Curbelo. He just makes it easy for you
I’m sure it will when combined with the Illini’s SEC alternate victory. We were on national television at a time where there was no competing game. A lot of people took notice. The question is whether it moves the needle for kids who maybe were looking elsewhere to give us a harder look.
DeLaRosa may have been marginal overall, but in that Michigan State game he was a hero. I also think he helped Giorgi immensely. Would have liked to have seen him play without the bad knee.Along with Battle, Rice were Jack Ingram, who was crucial in the AZ game In 05. IIRC, Norman came off the bench in one game as a unknown and lit it up. I believe Heldman was also a transfer. Griffin was a transfer after playing JC ball for a year. We have had moderate success overall in the transfer market. But we did have bad transfers during the Weber years after 06. Groce had a few also. BU has one bad transfer on record, Alstork, but Feliz was a hit, and De La Rosa was marginal at best Then of course, we have Tyler Underwood who was a hit . LOL. I think if we can bring one solid transfer a year, we will be ok.
Rebounding changes everything. With it you are in games, you can make up for poor shooting and you can limit the other teams opportunities. Izzo figured it out years ago. Glad we made rebounders a priority. One thing that's becoming clear from looking at the things Underwood gushes over is rebounding is integral for our system. I'd really like to pick up some good rebounding transfers with the assumed departure of Ayo & Kofi.
Griffin and Feliz were tough losses
Which dirty Big East school will swoop in at the 11th hour and sign him?

You really think so? I feel like we are set with Curbelo for the next four years. Going for combo guards or shooting guards makes a lot of sense to me.The hunt for a SG is interesting. I feel like more than anything, we need point guards. People who can facilitate the court. The staff knows their personnel better than me though

Well always good to have two, but I think they may feel that they have the second one already on the roster — Edgar Padilla, Jr. He was on Puerto Rico’s U17 national team. I haven’t seen enough of him to know, but don’t think he’s your traditional walk-on.You really think so? I feel like we are set with Curbelo for the next four years. Every team always needs PG's. But having too many shooters is never an issue. Curbelo is a guy I dont mind handing the keys to for 30+ minutes a game. He's here at least another year or two, and for that reason, give me 12 shooters to let him pass it to.The hunt for a SG is interesting. I feel like more than anything, we need point guards. Obviously, just pointing out its not a huge area of need right now. Especially with the possibility of Trent coming back next year.A team needs more than one point guard

Yes, preferred walk-on. As to other guard you are referring to, are you thinking of Pinson, high school teammate who has signed with St Johns?Wow really? Had no idea that he could be anything more than a practice body. Is he a preferred walk-on? Also isn't there another Puerto Rican top guard that we are in on? I seem to remember reading about Curbelo being close to him or something but can't remember the name.
