Just making room for Amazon. :D

So, what's the point of the McDAA teams being called East and West? The vast majority of the players this year are from the east. The most ridiculous team sorting is that the 2 players from Oak Hill Academy in Virginia are on opposite teams... :tsk:

I noticed that. Also two players from Hudson Catholic in NJ on opposite teams. Very east coast heavy. Damn EC Media Bias... LOL

Even more odd given that McDonald’s is based in Chicagoland.

Time for a boycott of all McDonalds in the state of Illinois. Who’s in?

But when you do you watch. Do you sit across the street and watch the people and cars come and go or what? I'm curious. :D

I'm all about the drive-thru. :thumb:

Mississippi State transfer Schnider Herard will visit Maryland on Thursday, per a source. Already visited Baylor and Illinois. Decision could happen by the weekend.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the deadline to enroll in classes is like 10 days after the first day of the semester (Jan 16th).

I can't help but think the ILLINI HAVE to land Herard right?

I mean Baylor is loaded and just got another in Flo Rida....and Maryland well they are simply loaded on frontline, especially with injuries (all of them will be back). They also have Smith and possibly Brown...where would the Haitian Sensation fit in...we have a definite spot available.

Add this previous Top 50 Recruit with Ayo and returning team (all or some), we would vastly be improved. I say we see 2 Top 50 recruits in the fold by Sunday, not Someday!

I really hope you are right, but I don't like that we aren't the last visit. Usually that doesn't turn out well for us.

I know it really doesn't favor us...Maryland will have no less than 6 players that will vie for "frontcourt or wing" play, 7 if Fernando comes back.

Cekovsky and Obi would be the only ones lost? I that the sell, come here and take Cekovsky time?

:chief: C'mon gotta be able to get this guy?

Am I the only one who feels that contrary to popular demand players do not choose usually schools based on playing time being handed to them?

Trey Young is an obvious exception but more often than not it seems successful competitors choose schools where they can go and compete.

It really just depends on the player. Some definitely do worry about playing time and others don't. Hopefully Herard does.

TRAE Young did not pick his school based on PT...he has a long history and much like Ayo, kind of seemed to be "why me" why not stay home, why not represent, PT I am sure factored in, but he didn't decide to go there based on this.

Kruger promised him the keys sure...hell who wouldn't have, Young wanted to be the MAN locally and chose accordingly.:chief:

The dude left because he got jumped in playing time by younger guys. I would hope he's smart enough to choose the right situation..

So now that Taeshon Cherry is off the board, when will we get our next recruit?

Trae Young's averages would have been more than cut in half had he gone to finalist Kansas instead of Oklahoma. He made a business decision and thus far it's paying off. Who knows, maybe players like Tray, Ben Simmons, (cough) Fultz will shift the dynamic back to local schools.

Things still quiet for BPJ?? He is probably one of my favorite big guys in the class that is actually attainable for us.

Have not found anywhere where he said he has cut his list or anything of that sort.

Still on the board. Still has 2 OV's left. Has taken OV to UCLA, Washington, and Depaul.

I sure wouldn't mind having a kid like this on the team. :D

I've seen some stuff on this board and Twitter about him not having a good season.

That’s correct-he would have until January 29 to register

https://registrar.illinois.edu/spring-academic-calendar-18

I think the timing issue is that he also needs to go through the admissions process before registering. That accelerates the timeline.

Word on the street was that he eliminated us a while back. However, he isn't a big social media guy and his recruitment has gone pretty quiet.
