Ehh I think Ramey is definitely part of the picture as well here

It's not a matter of do we want him. That's a total no-brainer. And, FWIW, I'm a long time Ramey fan. I think he'd be the best PG on the team. I also think he'll be one of the best PGs in the country. Destined for The League, for sure. Just a matter of when. That said, it takes two to tango, and I don't see the reciprocal case.

Disagree. Teets isn't a typical freshman. He's pushing 20. Do you actually think he'll be sticking around 'til he's 24+? Not very likely, IMO.

Also, (not directed at ChiefIllini) those of you who are looking at him as a post player are mistaken. He's much more of a stretch 4, in the Finke mold. But hopefully a much better rebounder. Can't write off bigs in their first year.

So he's a 19 year old freshman, instead of an 18 year old freshman? He's a year older than average. He'll graduate at 23, instead of 22. Not a huge difference IMO.

Birthdate: 2/25/98

He'll graduate at 23. 24 if he's redshirted. If he has some success, doubt he'd stay that long.

My pick from that list would be 7'3" Chris Sodom. Would he be eligible at the semester break next year and 3 more years after that?

With Ayo's family originally from Nigeria and Francis Okoro family still presently there I would think this offer to Chris Sodom is a no-brainer offer? I know he got in trouble although everyone gets a second chance and he will play somewhere!!

Ayo Dosunmu, get in touch with this young man for your center next year !!!

He's not really a transfer - he was dismissed from the team. I don't know the exact details of his dismissal, though it appears he was arrested after a bar fight. http://hoyatalk2.proboards.com/thread/30627/chris-sodom-dismissed-georgetown

Luis Rodriguez officially visiting next weekend: https://twitter.com/coreyevans_10/s...OPS-Recruiting-thread-Next-109537369?Page=142

6'6" wing that we offered a couple months back, but it had gone quiet. UMass is the only other team that seems to be recruiting him hard. Good defensive wing apparently, but I haven't been overly impressed by what I've seen from him offensively. Guessing this is a backup for plan for Jones.

For those saying we need better athletes to play this style of defense, this is your guy. Plus, I think we need to accept the fact that there will be many games where our guards get in foul trouble. Depth is never a bad thing.

Wondering what people on this board think are chances are of getting a big who can immediately help for next year and who that possibly could be. If we want to contend for the NCAA field next year pretty obvious we will need some help inside

There is a pretty good chance IMO. Groce got McLaurin, Ekey, and Thorne.

But don't count out Ebo as the guy that adds help. He's already improved so much since the beginning of the season. Let's see how much better he could get.

It seems so weird that Mizzou isn't recruiting him harder. There's got to be more to it than what's posted there.

Missouri has already turned up the heat. Those are schools just starting get their recruiting heated up with him. Missouri surely is the leader at this point. I just don't see how Illinois fits, but guess it doesn't hurt to turn up the heat? :thumb:

He wont be going to Mizzou. They wont even be in the picture.

Not even close. Missouri is not a factor in Ramey’s recruitment.

Courtney Ramey said he'd be up for playing with #Illini signee Ayo Dosunmu. Said they have a "competitive relationship".

Top-40 PG Courtney Ramey told me #Illini coaches have told him they love that he's a winner & a competitor. They've turned it up with him. Relationship with the head coach is very important to him.

If we have this team, I will be leading way to erect BU statue on campus.
If it does work out this way, I see Williams in TJL place.

Ayo/Ramey/Jones and a 5th year big would be off the charts! Ramey sounds like Westbrook 2.0 with all that he does. Add Liddell/Okoro the following year?
