I have a hard time getting excited over a 6'2" guard ranked 330 who can't shoot. Who's he going to be an upgrade over? Where would his playing time come from?
I don't understand these repeated narratives that both Jacobs and Ayo can't shoot. All I can guess is that these posters have not seen either play. Ayo is a plus shooter and I have seen it with my own eyes. A bit streaky at times but he can fill it up and hit seven threes in a game earlier this year.
As for Jacobs, he is not a volume 3-pt shooter...true...but that is because slashing with his superb athletic ability is his preference. However, just look at the stats...Jacobs shot 48% from three and 81% from FT line as a senior at Uplift and 41% from three and 87% from FT line in his prep school year. This is not an absolute brick layer here.
I am not saying Jacobs is the best fit but shooting is not a huge concern for me with Jacobs and, yes, I have seen him live. However, he is shorter than both Ayo or Ramey so that is a concern as he is locked in at the 2-3 position only. He is a phenomenal athlete and would be a huge upgrade in that regard and the potential to be a lock-down defender.
As an aside, Ramey is the guy I want hands down over everybody remaining. He is a fantastic athlete, competitor, defender and teammate in a 6'4" body and could make both Ayo and Frazier that much more lethal. Also, I think people may be surprised how well Ayo can shoot considering the groupthink narratives and he has played off the ball some with Morgan Park.
