Goodwin top instate player this year regardless of class. He was the best player on what ewas regarded as state's top team. He should be top 40 nationally next year compared to talent and what si.iliar players have accomplished at Illinois.

LuckyLefty has had an incredible track record, near 100% accurate (without looking at his posts, just going off memory).
However, the normal IL insiders seem to be around 20% correct.
To me, this says Lefty is either INSANELY connected or is bound to be wrong soon. I hope he is right, I really do, but I just have a feeling this is one where it seems to be going our way and then he will have to come on here soon and say "things just changed...recruiting is crazy".
Point is, I'm not as optimistic with these insider posts as others. I hope to be proven wrong though!

I find it alittle funny that people actually believe that these parents are worried about coming here cause of the arrest. Sorry I just don't see it at all. Groce isn't out there saying hey lets go hit someone today. So it's on the kids and parents for taking care of their responsibilities off the court.
100% agree. The media has created all this concern about the arrests effecting recruiting.

Quick thought on the Chastain kid. Watched his highlites and appears highly athletic. Not sure if we have anyone currently on this team like him. If he is a high energy player with those hops we could and have done a lot worse. If we don't get the interest from 5th year bigs I'd take this kid. Of course the situation has to be right.
Chastain has everything athletically that Illinois doesn't .
Yep, many posters who have seen him play seem to feel that way. Seems like a set up to replay the Ulis, Watson, etc... non recruitment. We all know how that turned out.

The difference is only that Ulis and Watson were top 100 players from powerhouse programs that played the biggest position of need and proved themselves at the national aau level.

Awesome, wasn't aware about Lefty's track record. If that's the case, them I'm getting hopeful based on what he posted a couple days ago regarding Tilmon. As for the other so-called "insiders," I'm just going to disregard since it seems they're always wrong :hurl:
It'll be interesting to see how Groce recruits to fill up these potential holes from the arrests. The court decisions will likely take a couple months right? But if I remember correctly, most transfers decide before June. Maybe he gets in the ear of Chastain and says wait a couple more months, we might have a spot for you.
But I'm guessing Groce has a better idea of what's going to happen with Nunn, Tate, and Black than we do. Hopefully he doesn't end up empty handed when these court cases drag out.

So we were all very confident despite offers from schools like UNC and KU but now that UK offers all hope is lost?

Don't believe UK has offered......yet.
So I'm not trying to be overly optimistic here, but has Cal offered yet? I mean, just going in to see him for the first time and not offering might not be enough against someone who HAS offered and spent years recruiting him.
I'm sure interest from UK is enough to make him think but is it really enough to make him forget Illinois?
