Probably because he is fresh in peoples minds because he was on TV and carried his team in the postseason. That and he showed a lot of athleticism right at the time when our team was being exploited for lacking just that. I think it would also seem clear that next year in his senior year, if Payton leads his team to the state championship and shows great leadership and athleticism (which he very could do) then you will see the same questions emerge from the same people. Fans.

And I don't think most of the opinions are on highlight videos. We all watched him at state and on the way to state.

If my memory serves me correctly, DJ stood out last summer at some special invite with lots of top notch high school players.

For me it's because I have seen Chastain twice and know what he can do. couldn't even tell you where Payton goes to school. You talk about what you know and see and don't talk about what you don't know.

You are probably talking about the IHSA Coaches All Star game in Pontiac. Williams scored 32 points against all stars from around the state.

No this was some national event last year, or maybe it was a big AAU tourney where he really stood out because people on here talked about it so much saying see he can assert himself. Just don't recall what it was exactly, but it was not a local state thing.
