For some reason when I saw this quote, this scene came to my head...

Some people really shock me on here sometimes. Everybody having a meltdown that Chastain isn't offer yet get a much better all around athletic player on campus and they act like don't want him.

I would be shocked if not for the fact that this is IL and people are just simply insane here. I think we all just need another tourney appearance and we would all just settle down and trust the process again.

1. People like to complain
2. The "inside info" inferred it would be a big prospect to which others on this board felt it was a 5 star type
3. We have a lot of wings, but yeah Chastain is a wing too
4. The majority of people would be really excited about Terrence Lewis if they were more familiar with him.
5. Get it done Coach

In those people's defense, Chastain is a '16 recruit that would be on the team next season. In the event that Nunn is no more on the team, Chastain would be an intriguing replacement that would take Nunn's immediate scholarship.

While they play the same position, the fact that both Chastain and Terrence Lewis are in different classes means we could take both should a scholarship become available beyond Thorne's s one that will be used on a 5th year transfer (or Thorne) Yes, they're both 6'6" but they both have potential. I prefer Lewis b/c he has proven himself against better competition.

If we lose Nunn, Grace could add a more immediate impact 5th year transfer, or he could roll the dice on Chastain. At the very least, JFG should bring the kid in for a visit and watch him play against our wings. A wise coach does his due diligence on talented kids in his own back yard.

Anyone have any idea who we're recruiting against for Lewis?

Wait, people really think he'd be able to contribute as early as next year?

According to Rivals the only Big 5 conference schools besides Illinois to offer are Auburn and Iowa St. They list Purdue, Minny, Wisky and Marquette as interested but no offer.

I did not intend to imply that Chastain would be an immediate replacement for Nunn. Only that he would take Nunn's available scholarship. If Nunn is guilty of his offense, knowing his track record, Groce has to cut him loose. Our fanbase will not allow him to keep Nunn if he is guilty.

AJ and DJW and Kipper can play next season and absorb Nunn's loss for next season. Chastain would be all about taking a good player and balancing classes somewhat (and I qualified taking Chastain only if he plays with the guys currently on the team and he proves that he can hang with them. If he does, he would be worth an offer if Nunn is out.

If Utah wants the guy and my name is John Groce and I am the head coach of the University of Illinois, I am checking out Chastain and seeing if he is legit. Why? Coach K of Utah is a really good coach, played in the NBA and has this resume:

It's a fact that offers are always committable, especially when they're made by assistant coaches :D.

This is getting pretty tiring. Can we make this the last page talking about a player Illinois has no interest in or just make a new thread for this recruit who isn't coming here?

Exactly. Enough about Rako. Now, there is this kid from, I think, Leroy......:D

Didn't you hear? He's a more athletic version of Larry Bird.

I almost died when someone suggested that (seemingly seriously) earlier. That might have been a new high water mark for ridiculousness on these boards.

Ok so since we are getting rid of bad luck does this mean that Goodluck Okonoboh is transferring to Illinois? He would be All B1G Name team.
