I would be ecstatic if Groce locked up Lewis on his first visit...
I know everyone wants Tilmon and Goodwin. So do I. They're both 5 star talents. But let's accept where we are. Racking up four stars is pretty cool too.

Didn't say I wouldn't be happy, but not any more happy than when we locked up DJW or AJ.

Not getting excited. Common sense says it's not Tilmon or Goodwin. They're traveling this week and I'd assume they would have a local press conference for any significant announcements. Secondly, wouldn't it make sense that they'd visit first?

I hope this isn't simply referring to Lewis. While a good player, he is not a program-transforming recruit.

I don't think any of the recruits that we are going after in 2017 are program transforming recruits with the exception of Tilmon. However, a group of Tilmon, Lewis, Goodwin, Pickett, Williams could be a program transforming class. Add in another big like Culver or a fifth year transfer transfer big or a jc big and we would be much improved in the talent area.

I remember a time, not long ago, when a post like that would have about 14 pages of GIF's and excitement.

We've been broken ... I hope 77 is correct and we can begin to mend.

The day I took a half day from work to watch the Cliffmas debacle was the day that broke me.

Wow, that's some dedication, man. I can understand taking half a day for like a tourney game, for for a recruit commitment? You win.

not necessarily, all it takes is a tweet. they've both visited before.

just as i commented ten pages ago, athletes is exactly what the illini need. We have been out played by mediocre teams with better athletes than us., Lewis is an athlete (and a skilled one)and even though he fits at a position that we already filled, we are dreadfully low on that scale. bring back the flyin' in ilini!

sign em, up

If an IU fan gets ahold of this post, expect to see an entire thread on their board dedicated to making fun of our fans based on this quote alone.

I intentionally worked from home, does that count? Oh, and it broke me too. I took a lot of time off the recruiting threads after that. I think Snider actually hurt more that day.

Not necessarily. Wisconsin's played great D under Ryan and now Gard. They typically do not even attempt to block shots as it can take your bigs out of position for rebounds.

Good call. But much of their defensive success is because of their offensive style. They make it a half court game and don't turn it over, which means no easy buckets. And in the 2 previous seasons before this, Bo kind of loosened the chains and let them run a bit more. As a result, their defense wasn't as good as it usually is.

Why not, still great to lock up talented players. Especially with what we've been hearing about a "new" player joining what could help bring the top players in.

Yeah, sorry I guess I should have been more clear. I also "worked from home" that day. I believe it was a Friday if I remember correctly - so was easier than not to be able to do.

Ended up only charging a half a days worth of work to clients since I sat there on the forums and Twitter for the better part of the day watching the nut-punch unfold.

Okay enough with the depressing memories. Hopefully better days ahead.

Their tempo was just as slow as it ever was last year. They were also the #1 offense in the country.

There is more than one way to play good offense, there is more than one way to play good defense.
