I saw Negron play in person in Batavia. Hope we don't sign him. Think he'd be better off at a quality mid-major. Not a great offensive player. We can do a lot better than him.

Like 6'9" 235# Theo John. Well after all we are in his final 8.:)

GAME OF THE WEEK
MILWAUKEE KING AT MILWAUKEE WASHINGTON – TUESDAY

The Generals visit the Purgolders tonight in a game that’s important to both clubs. Beyond the obvious City Conference clash and all that goes with it, both teams need this game as a bit of a litmus test for their clubs. Milwaukee Washington has senior guard Te’Jon Lucas and a strong freshman group but the Purgolders have been up and down this year and this game will give them an early indication where they truly stand. For the Generals, a 6-0 early mark has been replaced by a subpar effort during the holiday season and rumblings of a lack of focus amongst other things. Jim Gosz and Milwaukee King have been extremely dominant in the City Conference obviously and tonight’s game could bring a fresh start to the new year and a reboot so to speak on the season for the Generals as well as an opportunity to serve notice that once again they are the team to beat in the City Conference. The outcome of this game will be very interesting in determining the direction of each program this season.

Washington defeated King (defending city champs, ranked #3 in WI) by a score of 71-66. Te'Jon Lucas finished with 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Michigan signee Jordan Poole finished with 1 point in the loss. After the game, the King coach said, "Te'Jon Lucas controlled the game." Te'Jon has been killing it so far this season...maybe he's our Trey Burke?

Trey Burke redux would be good. Speaking of killing it, you're doing ok too.

Here's hoping Te'Jon can eventually pull along some other decent WI high schoolers with him to Champaign in the future - good game Te'Jon! And congratulations on receiving a nomination for the McDonald's All-American game!!

Nice find Greg. Te'Jon is really putting on a show this season. Since he's quite young for his age (Malcolm-esque), maybe it shouldn't be too surprising that he's making a late surge in HS. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up in the national recruiting rankings.

High school seasons don't usually boost many prospects, if he has a good year he might move into the back of the top 100 but there probably won't be much reshuffling outside of the top 40 from McDonalds, Hoop Summit, and Jordan brand practice.

TJL might get some bounce if he is Mr. BB and he being only 1 of 2 McD's game nominees for all of WI might help. Team needs more like last night's win to move Washington into the top 3-4 in WI. That would help too.
His assist aspect of his game is what intrigues me. His scoring ability will take care of itself.

That's all possible but I don't know how much pull the state of Wisconsin has in the top 100 rankings. I'm only thinking of Rivals and Scout and such, and personally I think Lucas is a very good prospect and will help big time. As scary as it is, Lucas is the first Big Ten level point guard prospect to come to Illinois since Tracy Abrams in 2011.

Has there been any news on Tim Finke's recruitment?

And Abrams actually committed in December of 2008, so one can do the math, it's been 7 years between B1G quality HS/PG commitments.

Te'Jon is pushing hard with Rako.

Stating the obvious in the OSU loss

I don't see how the Illini can win in the Big 10 when the starting lineup consists of four guards and one forward. Somehow, the Illini need to recruit some size in the future to be competitive.

IIRC he's playing with Mac Irvin Fire this coming summer. We'll know a lot more about him as a player, and his recruitment, after this coming AAU season.

I thought it was the St Louis Eagles?
